English Language Arts (Daily)


Independent Silent Reading (20 mins)
Please sign off everyday on the weekly reading
and comprehension log (stapled to the back of
the social studies notebook)
Social Studies (Daily)
Illustrate notes on the left side of their social studies
notebook (Cornell notes are taken in class daily)
Practice pages (ex. Global Traveler Packet)
When new lessons are covered in class

Ways to Help Your Child


Daily planner (agenda) check
Check your childs assignments and homework.

Provide your child quiet time for homework


At least 1 hour with no TV, no loud music, no video games, no
distractions or interruptions.
Have a set time for homework every day: for example,
4:00pm 5:00pm is homework time

Limit the amount of TV & video games your child has each
day:
No more than 1 to 2 hours each day.
Check homework daily even without reading it, you can see
the difference between an A, C, and F.

Monitor progress in math quizzes and tests

Please review quizzes and test with your child


Sign quiz on bottom line
Students can make up quizzes by fixing mistakes
Work must be shown

After-School Behavior Policy


The student will be asked by the teacher to remain after
school for 10 minutes, for not following the class
agreements in the following ways:
1. Repeatedly not respecting peers or adults, listening
attentively, or following directions : teasing, hitting,
name-calling and making the classroom environment
unpleasant.
2. Consistently choosing not to complete your work
in class or at home.
3. Repeatedly forgetting to have necessary supplies:
pencils, notebooks, or homework.
