3. What is point pollution? Provide one example. Waste
directly going into the water
4. What is nonpoint pollution? Provide one example. Water
running downhill and picking up pollution
5. Why is nonpoint pollution a more serious problem? We
dont know where its coming from
6. What is sludge and how do we deal with it? Liquid that
has been treated and we put in land fills
7. What are pathogens? List some examples. Anything that
causes a disease such as a virus or bacteria

ecosystems? The waste gets moved because of the food
chain

Thermal pollution is excess heat and its a problem
because it affects the fish in the water because of the
temperature change

maintains the water making sure it and clean and
drinkable. 1972

problem? Because we have to put our waste somewhere
and it just seeps down into the water
