Why we should allow Illegal Citizens
Hey, do you hear that? *Ching, ching* That is the sound of money America could be
making if we make illegal immigrants an option for obtaining citizenship. It may seem foolish
that making illegal immigrants US citizens would make money because it would cost money to
teach the immigrants, but has been proven by many economists in "Economic Effects of
Granting Legal Status and Citizenship to Undocumented Immigrants It will also provide jobs
for many Americans in need of jobs. We also must do this to right the wrongs we have
committed against the illegal immigrants of history.
First off, granting the illegal immigrants the ability to obtain US Citizenship will create
jobs because those immigrants will have to work for their citizenship and not be handed it.
Meaning that they will have to learn US History and English etc. to be able to become US
Citizens, which will provide jobs to people who really need it. Letting illegal immigrants become
US Citizen will also prevent employers from hiring illegal immigrants for cheap labor and allow
other unemployed people to take up those jobs. Allowing illegal immigrants to become US
Citizen will give people who need a job immensely will give them more and better chances at
getting jobs not just in teaching but everywhere where illegal immigrants work. This just gives
America a better chance to make more money.
Allowing illegal immigrants the option to earn citizenship will greatly increase the GDP
of America. As you already know creating more jobs means more money to go around, but this
is not the only way the US makes more money out of the deal. The immigrants with their newly
acquired citizenship can create their own business and hirer their own workers, which again

creates more jobs and therefore more money. Another way the US get more money out of this
deal is that the immigrants also have to pay for taxes which they didnt have to pay for before so
now there is a whole new revenue stream going towards paying off our enormous debt. While
some people would believe that all this would be too expensive to benefit the US in any great
detail, those people forget that this is a long term investment in the future of the United States
and dont think that far ahead.
Lastly, America needs to right the wrongs they have committed against illegal
immigrants. Since America became America immigrants have always been treated poorly, given
the worst jobs, and had to stay under the radar; and this was when they werent illegal. Some
people envy illegal immigrants because the immigrants get the jobs the other people wanted to
have. Unfortunately the immigrants are barely scrapping by usually going without food or little
food to eat, working in the harshest of conditions for way below minimum wage, and they have
to stay under the radar anyway they can. In the past this would have been much easier, but with
all the technology of today that means staying away from hospitals, schools, and even good
neighborhoods. We need our ideals and laws to progress with the times like technology and
allow illegal immigrant the option to become a US Citizen.
We need to allow illegal immigrants the ability to become US Citizens if not to fix all the
wrong we have done them throughout history but for the money and the jobs we would get out of
it.
