How to talk about transportation!

Language Notes
Using preposition by and on (foot) to give some sentences using those preposition.
Example sentences:

I commute to work by bus.

I go to work by car.
We went on vacation by plane.
I go by bicycle to my friends house.
We are going to travel across Canada by train.

SCHEDULE
General Objective: At the end of the class, SWBAT

Handle a basic understanding of means of transportation by using vocabulary and everything book in English
class.
Participate in groups to get benefits of integrated class.
WARM UP
People to People

This is my all-time favorite warm up. It is extremely easy to do and the more important point is focusing on groups!
Students are going to pay attention directions, so tutor is going to say People to People and students have to ask How
many? And tutor is going to say a number in order to make groups from 3 people, 4, and so on. Finally, they might stress
out and they get attention! E.g. there will be 3 groups of Students in the classroom.
Controlled practice:
Introduction of vocabulary: Students are going to listen and repeat vocabulary, and then theyre going to copy some
words by listening tutors dictation.
Semi controlled practice:
Students are going to work in pairs using their English books.
Free practice:
Learners are going to write 5 sentences with different means of transportation and some verbs used for transportation
given in class as vocabulary.
WRAP UP
Brainstorm Race
Students are going to divide into 2 teams. Ask them to brainstorm and list as many ideas or questions as they can come
up with in a given amount of time. Heres the kicker---they cannot speak. Each student must write his or her ideas on the
board or paper youve provided. They must write sentences using as vocabulary as they could get previously.

Homework
Write 5-lines with five different means of transportation.
