Summary of the Site

NASA eClips are short, relevant educational video segments.

These videos inspire and engage students, helping them see real
world connections. New video segments are produced weekly
exploring current applications of science, technology, engineering
and mathematics (STEM) topics.

Target Readers

Produced for targeted audiences: K-5, 6-8, 9-12

Literacy Strategy

Paragraph Frame
Summarizing teaches students how to take a large selection of
material in this case, a brief overview of a scientific concept and reduce it to the main points for more concise understanding.
Upon completion of the eClips , a phrase template helps students
learn to determine essential ideas and consolidate important details
that support them. It is a technique that enables students to focus
on key words and phrases of an assigned text that are worth noting
and remembering.

Modifications

NASA eClips offer unlimited flexibility in the classroom for

timing, sequencing and pacing instruction to meet the needs of
students and classroom instructors. Educational material for this
program is selected based on national curriculum standards.

Additional Activities

Educator guides utilizing NASA eClips, related activities and

educational best practices are available on the website. New
educator resources are developed throughout the school year to
accompany the new video segments currently in production.

Thematic Units/Topics

The website focuses on several broad topics that are covered from
various aspects of NASA mission perspectives, including
engineering, physics, materials science and more.
