Up-To-Dateness The book was written in 2004 so it is rather recent. The material that was included in it
is not likely to change much expect during extremely long period of time.
Accuracy and Authenticity This book does a great job of presenting animal attributes and statistics. It
gives measurement info about many of the animals and provides a thorough description of them.

Avoidance of Stereotypes The information within the book is presented free of all stereotypes. The only
things that appear to have personal opinions are the section headings for each animal. They have names
such as Super-sized squids and phenomenal fish.
Distinction Between Fact and Theory The book does a great job of clearly stating what information is
factual. It does not include and theories within.

This book was extremely interesting for me to read. The varied facts included as well as the
detailed pictures kept my attention when I read about these different animals. A book such as this
could prove extremely helpful when discussing a variety of science topics with students. It has
information relating to animal types, environments, and ecosystems. I also believe that many
students would enjoy this book because of the large amount of interesting facts.
