Numbers Lesson Plan for Ms. Lakey
Objective: I can count from one to thirty
Level: Novice-low
Time: 20 minutes
1. Give everyone three numbers on a scale from 1 to 30 so that every number is used
and dispersed throughout the class
a. Hola clase, hoy vamos a jugar un juego con los nmeros. The goal is for
you guys to count from 1 to 30 in order using the numbers you have
indiviudally in front of you. You only say the number that you have in
front of you. For example, if Chris has uno, he says uno first, then if
Anastasia has dos, she says dos. The goal is for everyone to say their
numbers in order as fast as possible. Im going to time you guys and well
see if you can beat your times.
2. Team building game: The goal is to count to 20 as fast as possible as a team.
Every person has to say at least number and no one can speak at the same time or
they have to start over.
3. Concentration: Every person is given a number 1-# of students that you have.
You start a rhythm pattern that is slapping your legs, clapping, snapping one
finger then snapping the other. Next number one says 1 on the first snap then a
different number on the second snap. If the pattern is broken or someone
hesitates they are out.
4. Around the world: Have cards numbered 1-11. Give two people each a card and
they put it on their forehead without looking at it. Next, a third person says the
sum of the two numbers on the other kids foreheads in Spanish. The two kids
have to beat each other to say the number that is on their forehead first.
