Students will be responsible for the answering the driving question: when must we draw the line in regard to immigrant access? How far are we
found morally responsible for the needs of others? Learners will synthesize information from various sources including population data,
social/crime data from various regions throughout Central America, Catholic Social Teaching, and even economic data from both the United
States and Central America. The key is to analyze the situation using authentic sources from both sides: being both English and Spanish.

Driving Question

Where do we draw the line in regard to Latin and Central American immigration?

Entry Event

Students will Skype with a Mexican or Central American citizen who has been separated from his or her family. This person will plea to the class
that they compile information to make an objective case on why she must be reunited with her family.

Individual A formal letter to a customs/immigration official, A reporter's journal to keep


track of all information gathered
