Week 2 Critical Thinking Questionnaire

In a Journal entry, answer the following questions:
1. The most important thing I learned this week is?
How the concept of online collaboration has developed into many theories regarding the
use, effectiveness and variety of technological tools for online collaboration.
2. How can I apply what I have learned so far in this course?
The discussions involved online learnings ability to create an environment that is
dependent upon the collective thoughts of participants. Thus, in structuring an online
classroom I would use a asynchronous discussion format with thought provoking
questions in the discussion in order to stimulate opinionated thought in addition to fact
from students.
3. Three things I am still wondering about are?
I am still wondering if the theorists ever considered the fact that at higher levels of
learning more opinionated interaction will occur without proper leadership from
instructors.
4. In order to successfully develop an online course or learning environment I still need
to?
I still need to know if security issues with technology are getting better or worse and if
social networks are more susceptible to piracy than Wikis, Blogs, Podcasts, etc.
I need to know if the class I am teaching is computer literate or just learning to use
computers. I need to research the topics for discussion with the idea ib mind that there is
a central theme but will be variations that students will pick up on through interaction
with other students.
5. How have I modeled the characteristics of a self-directed learner?
I assume the responsibility of exploring concepts from abstract theory to concrete
evidence within the confines of the class curriculum yet with creativity. I try to take

interest in the work on my own. Though I complete the lesson to the letter of instruction,
I think about why the instructor aswked a question in addition to answering the question
itself. . Thus, I believe I am a self-directed learner
