T makes a review of the pronunciation of the
vowels.
T shows the vowel chart .

Well, you already know some vowels. Can


you tell me something about vowels? How
many different phonetics vowel sounds there
are?
Can you produce the different sounds of the
vowel I, A and U?
This is the vowel chart. In the vowel chart we
classify the 12 different sounds of the vowels.
As you know, the vowel chart is a kind of draw
of the tongue.


WHILE

POST-TASK

T is going to show the vowel chart and 30 min


Ss will be able to put the phonetic
transciption in the right place.
Ss will hear different words and then
classify them according to the vowel.
Then, Ss are going to write in the WB the
words and classify them in the right
place.

Ss are going to repeat the words with the


right pronunciation.
Ss will classify the words if they have a
long or short vowel.
T provides feedback to the group.

20 min

Ok, now Im going to draw the vowel chart


and you are going to draw the phonetic
symbol in the right place one by one.
In the next activity you will hear some words.
Now, you will be able to classify the words
according the vowel sound.
Now you need to go to the white board and
write in the right place that word.

Now, you will repeat the word clearly and then I am


going to say if the pronunciation is good or bad. If the
pronunciation is bad you need to repeat it.
Now, can you tell which words use long and short
vowels?
Finally, I will give you a feedback about your
participation in class and you can make some
questions if you still have a doubt.
