INTRODUCTION

Throughout the term we have been investigating the topic of


government.

We brainstormed who has power: campus leaders, sport and house


leaders, SRC leaders, StandOut group leaders, BluEarth leaders,
parents, teachers, politicians YOU.

We have been reading Parvana and discussed a number of the issues


identified in the text.

To make connections between all of the information and knowledge we


have gained throughout the year we have prepared a project for you

THE TASK
Select a country any country of your choosing.
You will making comparisons between your chosen country and Australia.
Investigate:
General information: main religion/s, language/s
The geographical features of this country;
The type of government;
Laws specific to the country;
Current issues in the media.
How you present this information is up to you be creative
Venn diagram, keynote presentation,
iMovie documentary, infographic, quiz your audience

THE PROCESS
You will be working independently on this project
which means you need to be organised!
Before you begin you will require the following resources:

Computer/laptop/iPad;

An assessment rubric (so you know how we will be marking you);

The questions you will need to answer as a part of your presentation.

You need to find the answers to the following questions:

1.

What key vocabulary will you be including (and defining)?

2.

What are the different forms of governments (i.e., democracy, autocracy,


monarchy, and dictatorship)?

3.

What are the pros and cons of the different types of government?

4.

Do your rights differ based on your gender? Social standing? Occupation?
