John Coltrane

John Coltrane is more influential then Oscar Peterson, while Peterson was recognized
for his personal achievements his rise to fame was due to his own successes and by
his influences on himself. Coltrane was idolized by millions and inspired even more
to pick up the Saxophone and play. Coltrane brought forth many revolutions in the
jazz genre and to this day there are still many trying to imitate him and recreate
what he did. Coltrane is one of the Reasons why the Selemer Mark V is one of the
most commonly seen Saxophones in the scene. This was due to the fact that Coltrane
himself player a Selemer Mark V Tenor. The influences of Coltrane were far greater
then that of Petersons causing a whole movement into the jazz scene and how we
comprehend and understand modern jazz music today.
