JFK

DOMESTIC:
Throughout his years as president Kennedy dealt with the problems of Civil Rights, legislative
challenges and Economic troubles.
Throughout his presidential term, Kennedy tried to soften racism laws and take them away, but
sadly even though he passed the Civil Rights Bill he did not live to see it come into full effect.
INTERNATIONAL:
His first interaction with foreign affairs was in the Bay of Pigs which was Kennedys great idea to
send covert CIA agents to invade Cuba. This resulted in the tensions coming tight between the
U.S and the Soviets with the creation of the Berlin Wall.
As the bad decisions were made there were also good ones. Starting with the Cuban missile
crisis in which the Soviets placed ballistic missiles under Florida in Cuban waters. Kennedy
dealt with this problem by evading massive Nuclear strike on the U.S by taking our ballistic
weapons out of Turkey and giving Cuba the independence and freedom from the U.S
government by sealing off its borders from the U.S.
In his last years of his Presidential career Kennedy created the peace corps to subside the
activism that was growing within America.
In the last weeks of his life Kennedy began to bring down the amount of Nuclear weapons in the
U.S to hopefully create more peace between the Soviets and the U.S
CRISIS:
His ability to handle the Cuban Missile Crises so well was remarkable
HOW THE PUBLIC SAW HIM:
The public saw him as a strong leader
ECONOMIC:
In just one year Kennedy, with the imperative help of his advisors, brought the U.S out of the
recession

Jefferson
DOMESTIC:
Throughout his Presidential campaign Jeffersons main goal was to fix and make a better
Government for the U.S. Though at the beginning of his Presidency his power to do this was
limited by the Judiciary Act of 1801 and was hindered and left unable to do the things he saw
important until the end of his terms.
INTERNATIONAL:
Although quick and concise his actions against Barbary Pirates ended bad for the U.S and
included us paying them for our attempt to govern Tripoli.

Also he bought land from Napoleon knowing that to combat Spain he would need to expand our
countrys land.
When British ships took hostage our merchant ships, Jefferson acted quickly and poorly, and
ended up leading our economy straight into the Gutter.
CRISIS:
In crisis situations, Jefferson was quick to act but never used the right ideas to figure out the
problems at hand and would end up bringing more problems out of the conflict than good.
HOW THE PUBLIC SAW HIM:
Not seen very well
ECONOMIC:
Economically Jefferson, by the end of his terms, sent the U.S into the gutter in his idea to cut off
the farming exports to Britain on which our country was sustained.

Eisenhower
DOMESTIC:
Eisenhower dealt with the growing civil rights problems within America. He made many small
advances on this field, passing multiple Civil Rights Laws giving some freedoms and equalities
to African Americans in the country. Though he did this he still failed to use his moral support to
fight the oppression instead he used the problem as a weakness that communist states could
use against America. This in the long run made the country divide and made the racial problem
more severe into the 1960s.
INTERNATIONAL:
Eisenhower used nuclear threats against raising problematic countries in China to subdue them
and keep them from starting conflict
During the beginning of his presidency, Eisenhower used Stalins death as an advantage to
bring the Soviet Union and the U.S closer in relations and establish some sort of peace between
the two countries, but in the end of his presidency tensions grew again due to the Soviet
shooting down one of our Military Aircrafts and taking the pilot hostage.
CRISIS:
During his terms there were not many crisis situations but the way he subdued communism
throughout asia was very powerful.
HOW THE PUBLIC SAW HIM:
This was americas happy time and saw everything as grand since the economy was in such a
good state.
ECONOMIC:

The economy at this time was soaring with low inflation and Eisenhowers ability to make certain
budget cuts. This still did not mean that there was no poverty, which as this time was a huge
problem in the South and had slowly become a problem in the South. But none the less since
the economy was so well off, Eisenhower did not find it to be one of the problems he had to
focus on the most.

Wilson
DOMESTIC:
Wilson changed the way we view presidents. He pushed them to the leader of America and not
just the help that Congress would go to if their were problems that needed suggestions on.
Then he went on to change everything related to currency and the Federal banks. He opened
multiple new banks in the reaction to the want of reform in which he created a paper based
currency and gave these new banks the ability to handle money distribution and the budget cut
for the United States.
In the time of war, Wilson did what was necessary to shape Americas economy into a wartime
based economy, which meant bringing the industrial side of the economy to great use. He also
made the agriculture side of the Economy much more powerful giving farmers the ability to
create enough food supplies to to not only sustain the civilians within america, but also sustain
allied forces in WWI.
Civil Liberties even began to become a problem during his terms, in which he responded by
making lecture halls where professionals from fields of art, science, religion, and pretty much
everything else would come and speak.
INTERNATIONAL:
While tensions were tight between the U.S and Mexico at the beginning of his terms, Wilso
made peaceful relations with them through democracy giving them their independence and
creating a border between Mexico and the U.S. but soon these peaceful relations became
slightly tight again given that Germany had tried to make an alliance with Mexico in the case
that the U.S would join the war to fight Germany. But Mexico did not accept these terms and
kept their peaceful intentions with the U.S clear. This gave the switch from dealing with mexico
to focusing on the threat of The Axis powers in WWI, while staying neutral in the war. Instead of
fighting, Wilson supplied the war by making weapons and food for Allied powers in the war. But
Wilsons want for neutrality did not last long. In 1915 the final step towards our involvment in the
war were taken. These included the sinking of the Lusitania and many more ships with
American citizens and the Zimmerman telegram between Germany and Mexico. After trying to
retain peace, Wilson finally asked congress to announce the U.Ss entrance into the war against
the Axis powers.
In the end Wilson still tried to fix the post war world with democratic solutions by introducing the
twelve points, and the League of Nations. soon he fell from a stroke and was unable to finish
his post war work.
CRISIS:

In Crisis Wilson acted very well by sending the U.S into the war.
HOW THE PUBLIC SAW HIM:
Saw him as a strong leader
ECONOMIC:
During the war Wilson expanded our countrys economy to the size it needed to be and gave it
sustainable resources through Industrial work and Agricultural work.

Reagan
DOMESTIC:
Reagan definitely was a man who make tough decisions when they had to be made. His first
order of business was to heal Americas economy through budget cuts and cuts in tax rates as
high as 30%. As promising as this sounded to him no one else thought this decision would help
at all instead actually it took a bullet to go through his ribs to gain the support needed to make
certain tax cuts and budget cuts. Though as downplayed as this was it turned out to not be a
catastrophic failure. well it partially did as the economy was to weak at this time to deal with all
the things Reagan was doing to them. This led to a recession. but eventually this recession
would turn into an Economic boom in which more people than ever would be raised out of
poverty.

INTERNATIONAL:
Throughout his terms as president Reagan mostly dealt with the tensions between the Soviets
and the U.S, and terrorist threats from the Middle East. His involvement of the U.S in Lebanon
led His involvement of the U.S. in Lebanon led to killing and slaughtering of many civilians and
U.S soldiers.
In the final years of his role as President relations between the Soviets and the U.S
CRISIS:
His swift interactions involving Lebanon were not handled very well given that he left without
giving the country the support it needed to carry on without the U.S government. But his
interactions with the Soviets did do him some justice.
HOW THE PUBLIC SAW HIM:
In the beginning he was not seen too well, but in the end he was.
ECONOMIC:

Terribly led the economy of the United States into a recession which almost was unfixable. But
as a surprise to everyone the economy was led to a huge boom which was supported one of the
largest populaces in america to be raised out of poverty.
