Virtues and Vices = negative and positive traits

Temperament
Integrity = having high moral standards
Diligent = working hard and conscientiously
Resolute = making firm, lasting decisions; SYN determined
Callous = cruel, not caring about other people's feelings or suffering. a callous killer
Brazen (disapp.) = shameless, open and without shame, usually about sth that people
find shocking. She had become brazen about the whole affair.
Fickle (disapp.) = often changing their mind in an unreasonable way so that you cannot
rely on them. a fickle friend
Flawed = having a flaw; damaged or spoiled. the book's flawed heroine
Loquacious (formal) = talkative, talking a lot.
Talkative = liking to talk a lot. He's not very talkative, is he?
Spineless (disapp.) = weak and easily frightened
Rebellious = unwilling to obey rules or accept normal standards of behaviour, dress,
etc. rebellious teenagers
Apathetic = showing no interest or enthusiasm. The illness made her apathetic and
unwilling to meet people.
Articulate = good at expressing ideas or feelings clearly in words. He was unusually
articulate for a ten-year-old.
Conventional (often disapp.) = tending to follow what is done or considered acceptable
by society in general; normal and ordinary, and perhaps not very interesting. She's
very conventional in her views.
Unflappable (informal) = able to stay calm in a difficult situation
Imperturbable (formal) = not easily upset or worried by a difficult situation; calm. His
normally imperturbable secretary burst into tears.
Spunky (informal) = brave and determined; full of enthusiasm. She is bright, tough and
spunky.
