Abstract: Construction of Marine Facilities for Standby Jetty at Dahej LNG Terminal
M/s. Petronet LNG Limited (PLL) had awarded the work of construction of marine facilities for
standby jetty at Dahej LNG Terminal to Dahej Standby Jetty Project Undertaking (DJPU) a Joint
Venture between AFCONS Infrastructure Limited and Gunanesa Pte., in November 2010.
AFCONS successfully completed this project by March 2014.
The project consisted of construction of:
(1) 4.2m wide x 2400m long approach trestle founded on 320 nos. Of 914mm,
1168mm, 1270mm & 1320mm driven steel piles
(2) 40.0m wide x 42.0m long unloading platform founded on 1320mm 31 numbers
driven steel piles
(3) 13.0m wide x 10.0m long mooring dolphins 8 Nos. founded on 1168mm x 14
numbers driven steel piles each
(4) 13.0m wide x 10.0m long berthing dolphins 4 nos. founded on 1168mm x 16 nos.
Piles each
(5) Tug Berth 2 nos. Founded on 914mm 3 nos. Piles
In order to have detailed site specific geotechnical information AFCONS conducted detailed
geotechnical investigation. This investigation consisted of 12 nos. Boreholes varying in depth
from 30m to 50m below sea bed level. Marine boreholes were drilled using jack-up barge.
In view of previous experience and tight construction schedule it was decided to provide driven
steel piles as foundation system to support various structures.
