Preparation (What do you need to do beforehand?):

I need to mix a box of fake leaves and fake flowers with real ones.
I will set out 4 different boxes so the children can organize the leaves and flowers to the correct season.
I will make a paper for each box and write one of the 4 seasons on each box.
Procedures (step by step) Be Specific

*Beginning (How will I introduce activity?)

I will ask the children if they know anything about how the leaves change color during the different time of the
year. Once they are done, I will show them the boxes and ask them where they think that each flower or leaf
should go.
*Middle: (How will I support/enhance/scaffold?) The person reading your lesson plan should be able to
identify what you are saying or doing to support your stated learning objectives. THIS IS VERY
IMPORTANT.
I will let the children talk it all out and figure it out on their own. If they are having a hard time I will help.

*End: (How will I bring this activity to a conclusion and transition to the next activity? Be very specific
in how you will transition the children.)
Once the first box is empty I will go over the seasons. If the children have any questions I will answer. Once
they are done I will have the children empty the 4 boxes into the original boxes.
Throughout the day/week, what opportunities will the children have to reflect back on this activity?
I will ask them during circle time if they had a favorite flower or leaf. I will also place some of the leaves and
flowers in different centers around the room.
