It is my pleasure to recommend Taylor Fischer for an internship with your company. Taylor is a public relations major with a minor in youth and nonprofit leadership. I met Taylor last fall when she was a student in my JMC 194 Newswriting class, which is a requirement for her major. Taylor impressed me with her attention to detail in her writing assignments and quizzes. She quickly learned the proper style for writing news articles and excelled on those assignments. Taylor also demonstrated an innate curiosity for current events and often helped to lead class discussions. She is a hard worker in her studies. Taylor is a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America and has taken leadership roles within her residential college. Plus, she works two on-campus jobs as well as an off-campus job and still maintains a 3.9 grade-point average. Attending school and working three jobs is difficult enough, but for a student to maintain that high of a GPA is a real testament to her ability to work hard and manage her time efficiently. Additionally, Taylor volunteers as a tutor for elementary-age students and as a coach with the Special Olympics. Based on a few conversations with her, I can tell her passion for helping others, especially people involved with the Special Olympics. Taylor is most deserving of an internship to help her gain some real world experience. I hope you will agree with my assessment of Taylor's academic promise.
Sincerely, Leigh L. Wright, MFA Assistant professor, journalism and mass communications Head of the journalism sequence Murray State University
