meaning aloud so students can hear pronunciation
2. PowerPoint and worksheet: Romantic period 30 minutes
Guided notes activity - SEE ATTACED
While teacher presents PowerPoint, students will fill out guided notes
worksheet. NOTE: The guided notes are differentiated by instructional
level. Please check the name on each worksheet as you distribute
3. Teacher will introduce the 3 Pre-Romantic poets the class will be reading and give
the characteristics that define each poet as a Pre-Romantic. 5-10 minutes
4. Popcorn read Gray on pages 665-671 10-15 minutes
As a class, teacher and students will popcorn read Gray poems

Teacher will divide the students into groups of 3
Teacher will give each group art supplies (markers, colored pencils, etc.) and
a piece of poster board
Teacher will ask groups to compose a short illuminated poem
4. Read Wordsworth, p. 776-779 and 790-791. 15-20 minutes
As a class, teacher and students will popcorn read Wordsworth poems

5. Read Coleridge (Kubla Khan), p. 819-820. 15-20 minutes
