BACKGROUND and RATIONALE:
The key concept of this lesson is water conservation.

We have previously learned about the water cycle and the purposes for which humans use water, so this will build
on those lessons.
This lesson will be called upon in further lesson on water. TSW will determine if the use of water in various
situations is practical, or if it needs to be conserved.

PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:

Introduction: The day before this lesson will commence, send the students home with the below
handout to note their use of water. This will motivate them to be prepared for the lesson by allowing an
easy homework grade.
Procedures: Provide a sequential (step by step) description of the procedures and activities for the
lesson.
- The night before the lesson will be taught, the students will fill out the below worksheet as
homework.
- When the student enters class they will have their worksheets completed and on their desk.

Closure:

To close the lesson, the students will present their Prezis over the span of one

class period.

ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE:
TSW will be assessed on their completion of the handout and their PowerPoint presentation.
TSW will also be assessed on their ability to list the benefits of different way to conserve water and how
it is helpful in their presentation.
MODIFICATIONS:
List specific modifications for students who did not master the objectives.
Those who did not master the objectives will be given separate handouts after the lesson to
