OBSERVATION TASK 2
1-How does the teacher open the class? What tone does this set? (Attention,
motivation, engagement, other)
-She asks Ss to tell her about what they saw last class, and in that way she
calls their attention
2-What interaction or relationship does the teacher establish with the students?
- She has a very close relationship with her Ss, she doesnt have nicknames for
them, but she is always monitoring their work during the activities and asking if
there is any question about the topic
3-How does this affect the learning environment or opportunities for learning?
-She creates an environment of confidence, in which the Ss feel comfortable
and without afraid of the response that they are going to receive at the moment
of answering a question.
4-Are students engaged? at what level and in what ways? Is the engagement
sustained? How can you notice this? Exemplify.
-We strongly believe that these Ss are really engaged with the class and with
the activities, what we observed its that they are willing to participate in any
task. Furthermore, we notices that they really want to learn because in each
time that the teacher is explaining a topic or an activity, the Ss are paying
attention.
5-How has the teacher prepared for this learning occasion? What tools are used
and does the teacher apply them effectively? Note: tools include humour,
visuals, small group work, writing exercises, guided class discussion, quizzes,
others.
-she use images in her PPT , also we noticed that she does lots of small group
work, that we believe they are for developing communicative skills and
strategies. (Communicative Approach)
6-How does the teacher know if the class is going as planned? Are there clues
to show the teacher maintains this trajectory or adjusts course when
unexpected events happen?
-She manages to control the class in case of an unexpected event, for example:
in one of her activities, one of her students told her that they did the same
activity with another teacher then, the teacher ask the student to tell her the
specific characteristics of that task ( very calm), then the student and the
teacher realize that it wasnt the same activity and she continue the class

7-How does the teacher close the class? How does this affect what students
think or learn? What evidence shows that students clearly understand the
content and context for what is learned by the end of the class?
- we are not able to do that, because our schedule doesnt allow us to stay to
the close of the class
