Mentor and tutor for Science, Math, Advocacy, Reading, Technology (SMART), R.N. Harris
Elementary and Spring Valley Elementary School, 2010-Present. Mentored and tutored 5th grade
students in an afterschool program at Orange Grove Missionary Baptist Church 21st CCLC.
Mentor and tutor for Student Mentoring, Achievement, and Reform Transitions (SMART),
Healthy Start Charter School, 2008-2011. Mentored and tutored 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in
an afterschool program.
B. University
Member of the University Committee on Student Conduct, North Carolina Central University,
Durham, NC, August 2014-Present. The committee sit on and review student issues where
students have violated the Student Code of Conduct.
Faculty Marshall, North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC, January 2014- Present. As a
Faculty Marshall, I am on duty at all University activities where the faculty has to dress in full
regalia.
Faculty Delegate to UNC GA, 2010 - As a Faculty Delegate, I attended monthly meetings in
Chapel Hill with other delegates and representatives. The meetings included but not limited to
current strategies and events that were taking place on campuses in the UNC System.

Choir Member of the Centennial Choir, North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC, August
2009-2011 - This Choir recruited volunteers to participate in Centennial activities on campus
where the choir was asked to appear; such activities included graduation.
African American Male Conference Committee, 2007-2009 This committee was responsible for
organizing the African American Male Conference.
C. School of Education
Mentoring/Pre-Induction and Disposition Committee, NCCU 2014-2016 - The role and function
of this committee is to design and implement a comprehensive mentoring and pre-induction
program that integrates the conceptual framework of the School of Education (Preparing
Educators for Diverse Cultural Contexts in the 21st Century and its six core values). The primary
goal of the Mentoring and Pre-Induction Program is to support the progression of students
identified as education majors from their entrance to North Carolina Central University through
the first three years of teaching.
Professional Development Committee, NCCU, 2014-2016 The unit systematically evaluates
faculty performance and facilitates professional development.
Portfolio Review and Presentation Committee, NCCU, 2008-2013 Assess graduate students
portfolios and presentations for Curriculum and Instruction, Professional Studies.
Search Committee for the Department of Special Education, NCCU, Fall 2009 As a member of
the Search Committee, I assisted with reviewing applications, other documentations, and
interviewing candidates interested in the Special Education Position.
Search Committee for the Department of Curriculum and Instruction Professional Studies,
NCCU, Summer 2008 As a member of the Search Committee, I assisted with reviewing
applications, other documentation, and interviewing candidates interested in a position in
Curriculum and Instruction.
Graduate School Council for the School of Education, NCCU, 2008-2012 Members of this
committee review and make decisions about graduate students in the School of Education.
Professional Development Committee, NCCU, 2008-2013 Members are responsible for seeking
and recommending workshops, conferences, etc. that will enhance professional growth of faculty
and staff in the School of Education.
University/School Partnerships, NCCU, 2008-Present Members help develop partnerships with
K-12 and Local Education Agencies. The committee produced and spearheaded NCCUs first
Education Symposium. For 2012, the committee will host The Fifth Annual Gathering of
Leaders, Coalition of Schools Educating Boys of Color (COSEBOC).
Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society in Education, School of Education, 2008-Present As
Counselor of this Society, guidance is given to student members as they are involved with service
learning projects, educational issues, etc.
