Pivot Animator 02
Pivot Unit Objectives
Students will:

Create and load original backgrounds using screenshots or Paint software into
Pivot

Create an original stick figure character and load into Pivot

Make their characters move realistically

Create a 600 frame story (see rubric on page 2 for details)

Save final animations as animated .avi and import into Windows Movie Maker

Create Background - Choice 1


1. Rearrange the icons on your desktop so that the icons make a ladder
2. Change your screen resolution to 800 x 600
o Right click on the desktop choose Screen Resolution change to 800 x
600
3. Take a screenshot
o Press Print Screen on your desktop.
o Press Function (fn) button + Print Screen on laptop
4. Open Paint and paste your screen shot (Edit, Paste)
5. Save the screenshot as Background 02.jpg in your Pivot folder on your user
drive

Create Background - Choice 2


1. Open Paint and create an original background image or enhance a jpg or bmp
file
2. Save the background as Background 02.jpg in your Pivot folder on your user
drive

Animation Time
1. Create a story line that comes to a logical conclusion
2. Open the background you create in Pivot
3. Create an animation with a minimum of 600 frames
4. At least three characters.
5. Minimum of two (2) backgrounds.
6. The animation must contain three characters, in motion, in the animation
7. Save the animation as Pivot 02.gif in your Pivot folder on your user drive
