To whom it may concern,
It is with immense interest that I am applying for the open position in your school district. I
currently attending College of DuPage and am expecting to receive my Associates degree this
summer in 2015. I am going to attend Southern Illinois University at Carbondale fall semester
2015 where I am expecting to get my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I have student
taught at my high school in this preschool we had for a class. I also have babysat children before
so I have knowledge of working with them. I am very eager and prepared to contribute my
knowledge and leadership skills to your school to maximize the learning experience for each and
every student.
At College of DuPage I am doing very well. I have good grades and have recently applied to
Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. In my acceptance letter I was informed that I am
eligible for their honors program at their school. I have completed fifteen hours of observations
at Indian Knoll Elementary school for my Education class which allowed me to see what it will
be like to be a teacher and how it is in the classroom. In my child development class in high
school, I was given the opportunity to teach preschoolers. It was required to make lesson plans
for each lesson and to also give the teacher a list of snacks that will be given out to the children
so that she could provide that for us. I am currently employed at McDonalds where I will soon be
a crew trainer. Being a crew trainer I will have to train the new employees that will start to work
there. That requires leadership roles. From all that I mentioned I have developed leadership
skills, strong communication, and how to work as a team.
A few of my strengths are accountability, leadership roles, teamwork, and responsibility. I am
able to communicate with others well and have good communication skills. When it comes to
working, I get the job done when needed to. Others can count on me to be there when help is
needed or wanted.
I seek to be an excellent addition to your school. I will create a stimulating learning environment
for my students. I want to have a positive classroom environment where children actually look
forward to coming to class knowing that they will and that their teacher will do the best she can
to make them learn.
Realizing the limitation of the written page, I would welcome the opportunity to participate in a
