LEAD-IN

T greets students

Good afternoon, how are you?

Speaking

T-S

T reviews what Ss learned last Well, do you remember that

class in order to activate their last tutorial was made by miss
previous knowledge
Karen, right?
What did you learned?
T asks the Ss for some examples

Can you give me some

examples of your daily routine?

T presents the aim

For example, I brush my teeth

every morning in the bathroom.
Where do you cook Anibal?
Where do you sleep Alexis?
Well, those are part of the
house and today you will learn
how to describe them.
T-S

PRESENTATION

T shows pictures of parts of the

house

Do you remember the parts of a

house? Well, we will review
the parts of the house if anyone
does not remember it.

T asks Ss how many objects

there are in each part of the
house

Look at this picture. This is the

garage. What can you see in the
garage? How many cars are
there?

Speaking

15min

T-S

T shows Ss the structure for

describing parts of the house.

T writes the structure on the

board and explain it to Ss
T emphasises pronunciation of
the structure.

PRACTICE

T shows Ss a picture of a house

with several objects. Ss have to
look at the picture for a minute
trying to memorize all the
objects. After looking at the
picture, Ss will have 10 minutes
to write down all that they can
remember and make sentences
using there is/ there are.

Did you notice that we use a

certain structure for describing
objects in a certain place?
That structure is the following
There is a bed
There + is + a/an + noun
There are two beds
There + are + some + noun

Do you have good memory? I

will test your memory. Lets
play a little game, I will show
you a picture of a house with
several objects. You will have a
minute to look at the picture;
you cannot write down
anything, you only have to look
at it and memorize the number
of each object. For example,
cars, there are two cars.
Now, you will have 10 minutes
to write down everything that
you can remember, but you
have to make sentences using
there is/ there are.
You have to work alone

T asks CCQs

Writing

Do you have to compare or

describe?

S-S

Speaking

15 min

Do you have to work alone or

in groups?
T asks Ss to compare their
answers.

Did you finish? Now, compare

your answers in pairs. Making
questions to your partner. For
example Are there any cars?

T corrects pronunciation and

grammar mistakes on the
whiteboard
PRODUCTION

T delivers images of parts of a

house and objects that we find in
a house. They need to work back
to back and work in pairs. They
have to make questions and
answer according to the object in
order to guess what part of the
house is. They have to describe
at least 4 parts of a house.

Now, you are going to play a

game. I have a piece of paper
with objects and a piece of
paper with a specific part of a
house. You need to work in
pairs; back to back. The student
A will have images with
objects and student B will have
a part of a house.

T gives instructions

The student A will have to

make questions using for
example: Is there? Are there?
In order to guess the part of the
house. The student B should
answer for example: Yes, there
is or no there isnt.
You have 20 minutes to
complete the task

T asks CCQs

How many images do you have

Speaking

20 min

to describe?
Do you have to work in pairs?
Good job!
T asks students to summarize
what they learn and writes it on
the whiteboard.

I would like to know what you

learnt today.
Thank you very much for
paying attention. Have a nice
weekend.
