Becoming a nurse
Nursing is a well-known occupation around the United States. Although nursing is
looked over by many people and not really thought of it is a key factor to every hospital visit.
There are different types of nurses and each one of their duties are different but some similar.
There is education and certain degrees one must have to even qualify to become nurse. Nursing
is a fulfilling career, with the proper training and skills it can benefit many lives.
Nursing is a field that requires levels of certain levels of training and passion mixed
together into a life long career. Examples of education levels is associate degree in nursing which
is a two year degree or bachelor degree of science in nursing which is a four year degree. Both in
which can be obtained at community colleges, hospital based schools, or universities (what
nurses do). An undergraduate program can be accomplished through a hospital school program
using first hand experience to acquire a bachelors or RN license (Nursing world). Graduate
Programs require higher levels of training and education to get a doctorate or masters in nursing.
There are plenty different levels of programs that can further education for registered nurses such
as MSN and DNP programs which can take from anywhere from two to eight years. Through the
right education, time, and effort the practices of nursing can be very rewarding.

There are a large amount of responsibilities and processes for registered nurses in visits
of patients. They perform physical exams and look through the patients medical history for any
past medications and abnormalities. They also have to interpret the patients information and
make critical decisions if needed (Nursing world). The Settings for the registered nurses (RN)
practices are in many different places such as hospitals, nursing homes, Medical offices,
ambulatory care centers, community health centers, schools and retail clinics. They also provide
health care in more surprising locations such as homeless shelters, sporting events and prisons.
Responsibilities for nurse practitioners are a little more different. They is more doing and
authority in this occupation. They are permitted to prescribe medications and diagnose and treat
minor illnesses and injuries (Nursing world). They are in similar and even the same locations as
registered nurses. With all these licenses there are a wide selections of occupations.
Nursing is a rewarding and wide spread career where there is a lot of different
occupations. With these degrees there will always be a job. In the healthcare field we as human
beings will always need doctors and nurses. There is only progress and discoveries that will
come in the future of healthcare.
