Topic: Gun laws

1. Should guns be illegal to everyone?

The possession of guns should not be illegal because the real problem is the laws regarding
it.
In recent discussions of guns, a controversial issue has been whether they should make it
illegal the sale and possessions of it. On the one hand, some argue that it would mean making
us vulnerable to anyone. From this perspective, I understand and agree some people would
feel safer with a gun in their home. On the other hand, however, others argue that innocent
people die every day at the cause of illegal possession of guns. In the words of Tiffany
Madison, one of this views main proponents, The Second Amendment is timeless for our
Founders grasped that self-defense is three-fold: every free individual must protect
themselves against the evil will of the man, the mob and the state. According to this view,
everyone is entitled to protect themselves if felt threaten. In sum, then, the issue is to enforce
the laws of gun control or accept the consequences.
My own view is that gun laws should be enforced regarding to whom and for what is the
purpose of buying it. Though I concede that guns are necessary in case of an emergency, I
still maintain that they should be owned by someone mature and experienced. For example,
the age in which someone can buy a gun should be at least 21 or over. Although some might
object that having a gun in the home could cause an accident if there are children, I would
reply that a responsible parent and human being would secure it. Making the point in which it
is important to know who the gun is being sold to. The issue is important because we think
guns are the problem but its we who choose when to pull the trigger.

Topic: Legalization of marijuana

1. Should marijuana be legal?
Marijuana should be legalized because it benefits society in various ways.
In recent discussions of Marijuana, a controversial issue has been whether it should be
legalized. On the one hand, some argue that it would benefit the economy and medical. From
this perspective, it would be rational for it to be legal. On the other hand, however, others
argue that people will abuse its purpose. In the words of Bob Marley, one of this views main
proponents, Herb is the healing of a nation, alcohol is the destruction. According to this
view, marijuana is a plant in which benefits us medically. In sum, then, the issue is whether
to use it in our advantage or let the opportunity pass.
My own view is that Marijuana should be legalized because it helps many sick people.
Though I concede that it has provoked accidents, I still maintain that it does not cause any
harm if used correctly. For example marijuana is inherit in various ways but done by
smoking it which would be the incorrect way for the appropriate use of it. Although some
might object that teenagers will be exposed to this drug, I would reply that alcohol affects
more negatively teenagers than marijuana would. The issue is important because many
people are still not familiar with the benefits this plant has.

Topic: Gay marriage

1. Why should/shouldnt homosexual couple be allowed to get married?
Gay marriage should be legal in every state because they should have the same rights as
heterosexual couples.
In recent discussions of gay marriage, a controversial issue has been whether to recognize
this union legally. On the one hand, some argue that same-sex couples should be allowed to
publicly celebrate their commitment in the same way as heterosexual couples. From this
perspective it is why we fight for equal rights. On the other hand, however, others argue that
the institution of marriage has traditionally been defined between a man and a woman. In the
words of Hendrik Hertzberg, one of this views main proponents marriage should be
between a spouse and a spouse, not a gender and a gender. According to this view marriage
is more than physical appearances. In sum, then, the issue is whether it is morally correct to
people.
My own view is that marriage should not be measured by your sexual orientation. Though I
concede that many religious groups do not approve, I still maintain that gay marriage will not
harm heterosexual marriages or "family values. For example, homosexual couples could
educate their adopted children as well about religion and values. Although some might object
same-sex households, are not optimum environment because children need both a mother and
father, I would reply that gay marriage has a lower divorce rate than heterosexual couples.
The issue is important because it is something occurring in present day which you are at
liberty to defend those rights or disagree as well.
