MILWAUKEE, April 29, 2014- Donald Driver will join Hunger Task Force (HTF) in their first

Park on October 4, 2014. Driver, the keynote speaker, will speak before the race, which begins at

The Milwaukee Area Hunger Run promotes healthy lifestyles to families while raising
awareness of the hunger crisis in Southeastern Wisconsin. We are overjoyed to have Donald
Driver join us in our mission for our first 5k, said Executive Director, Sherrie Tussler.

Volunteering is another way to get involved. People interested should go to HTFs website to sign
up under the volunteer tab.
Driver commented, It is truly a honor to speak on behalf of Hunger Task Force. Growing up in a
single parent household, we had our struggles, but we were fortunate enough to get help from
organizations like the Hunger Task Force.
-moreThe cost to enter the race is $25 for online pre-registration and $35 for day-of registration.
Community members interested in participating should visit the HTF website and sign up under
the Hunger Run/Walk tab on the homepage.

Background Information
There are many problems out there around us but Southeastern Wisconsin is
really struggling to fight hunger. To help try and fix or support this problem, a 5k
Walk/Run has been put together to try and raise some money and awareness for the
cause. The nonprofit organization in charge of this event is Hunger Task Force, an
organization that is focused on preventing hunger and malnutrition. Hunger Task
Force is located in Milwaukee and founded in 1974 by a group of parents that were
worried about children going to school hungry. Their operation mainly depends on
community support and has received the help of more than 5,000 people who
volunteer to help their cause.
This 5k Run/Walk will help Hunger Task Force raise awareness and support
for the hunger in Southeastern Wisconsin. The event that the Hunger Task Force
will be holding is a Hunger Run 5k Walk/Run at Frame Park in Waukesha,
Wisconsin. A way that this event will help raise awareness is by encouraging
participants and the community to bring non-perishable food items to the event.
Also, all of the proceeds will go to Hunger Force Task so that they can give them to
their supported food pantries and surrounding facilities to help prevent hunger in
Southeastern Wisconsin.
