When teachers are implementing activities with the children, Heather keenly observes and often takes notes. She is eager to learn all she can
about teaching children. During circle time, she is always willing to implement her knowledge of sign language and uses it as often as she can.
She is continuing to observe interactions and familiarize herself with the childrens interests so that she can implement her activities when she is
ready. Heather is developing and is not yet ready to complete a DRDP but is familiar with the assessment tool.

NAEYC Teaching Standard 5 Becoming a Professional: Student teachers identify and conduct themselves as members of the early
childhood profession. They know and use ethical guidelines and other professional standards related to early childhood practice.
They are continuous, collaborative learners who demonstrate knowledgeable, reflective, and critical perspectives on their work,
making informed decisions that integrate knowledge from a variety of courses. They use their interpersonal skills in working as a
team member with parents, peers, and supervisors. They are developing a philosophical approach that follows standard
professional practices that includes a perspective to becoming culturally sensitive. They are informed advocates for sound
educational practices and policies.
