The joy of reading and writing

1- After reading the joy of reading and writing, I realized that Indians were
expected to be stupid because of the reservation system. Alexie claimed that
he was in daily fights with his classmates because he was smart and
answered the teacher who asked to be answered. I think these strategies that
banned the children to have confidence and a wide knowledge might impact
the children literacy learning even in their usual lives. I have experienced a
lot of challenges in learning English and sometimes I lost the confidence to be
able to answer tasks or assignments that I barley understand but at the end I
disappointed the people who expected that I wont do anything by doing it.

The Indian children were skilled by telling stories, creating jokes and
knowing poetry that werent valued inside school. I consider these fields as
sides of literate because they enhance the children abilities of understanding
and communication with others.

Learning to Read
After what I read from Malcolm Xs story, I recognized that literature isnt
confided in schools, universities or any institute. Literature can be lived, touched and
felt in every single moment in our lives. Malcolm didnt get a usual education as
other literate people who get their knowledge from schools or teachers, but he got it
from who I think is better than the idea of teaching, which are books. Books are the
greatest invention on earth because without books we couldnt know about what
happened in our history or what the historys scientists came up with. Without
books we wont be able to define our legacy that might inspire us to be better.
Without books we might not avoid some mistakes that people did in the past. I think
Malcolm had very good teachers in his life, which are books.
I guess he inspired me because he was eager to not lose his book when the
guards looked over the prison and checked at the prisoners. I also thought a
moment about how books can build our knowledge and help us to be better thinkers
since I think Malcolm realized what was going on in the history and what is
happening in the future also what might be in the future when he talked about
china. I see Malcolms foreseeing was kind of accurate and I think this kind of
thinking seems skilled from strong background that might be built from reading a
lot of books.
