Mobile Learning Project

The lesson plans that I chose for this assignment were numbers one and seven.
Lesson Plan 1: Collecting Biological Phenomena in everyday life. As a homework
assignment, students will use their cellphones to take pictures and / or videos of biological
organisms that they encounter on their everyday travels.
(A) What technology is needed?
Students will need cellphones and or video cameras to take pictures and recording.
(B) What age is this assignment appropriate for?
This assignment is appropriate for sixth graders. They will be eleven to twelve years of
age.
(C) How will it be used?
This assignment will be used to teach the students about organisms.
(D) How will the students benefit from this assignment?
The students will benefit from this assignment because they will be actively learning
using their devices in an educational matter. They will execute the State Standard GLE
0607.Inq.2 which states that students should be able to use appropriate tools and
techniques to gather, organize, an analyze, and interpret data.
(E) How will teachers benefit from this assignment?
Teachers will benefit from this assignment because they will have engaged the students
in a Mobile learning assignment, they will be introducing an assignment in a fun way,
and they will have accomplished one of the State Standards for Science.
Lesson Plan 7: Using Basic Digital Cameras to Engage Reluctant Writers. Students
will use digital cameras to record a frozen, dramatic scene from a relevant class text, and
then use the scene to retell the original narrative.
(A) What technology will be needed for this assignment?
The technologies that will be needed to complete this assignment are the text book, a
digital camera, possibly a cellphone, a device that can project the scene, and a screen

to show the image on. Students will also need something to complete their writing,
such as a tablet, laptop, desk top, or pen / pencil and paper.
(B) What age is appropriate for this assignment?
The age that is appropriate for this assignment is eleven to twelve years of age. The
students should be in sixth grade.
(C) How will this assignment be used?
This assignment will be used to encourage students who are reluctant to write, to do
so in a fun and interesting way that includes technology.
(D) How will students benefit from this assignment?
Students will benefit from this lesson because it enables them to use technology and it
encourages them to write. Writing helps them to expand on their thoughts and allows
them the opportunity to retell the story in their own way. Also, by completing this
assignment, students will perform the State Standard that requires students at this
grade level to integrate information presented in different media or formats ( e.g. ,
visuals, quantitatively ) as well as in words to develop a coherent understanding of a
topic or issue.
(E) How will teachers benefit from this assignment?
Teachers will benefit from this assignment because a State Standard will be
accomplished. This assignment is one that incorporates technology. Teaching and
learning will be presented in a fun and engaging way, and students are encouraged to
retell and write about a story from a class text.
