Problem
The
instructions
manual
designed
for
putting
on
a
screen
protector
is
pretty
simple
and
does
not
require
any
supervision.
The
usability
test
was
carried
out
in
order
to
effectively
apply
the
screen
protector
with
no
air
bubbles.
The
components
were
provided
to
the
participant
for
carrying
out
the
test.
The
test
was
carried
out
under
supervision.
Participants
were
asked
to
follow
instructions
manual
carefully.
Method
The
components
provided
to
the
participant
included
a
micro
fiber
cloth,
screen
protector,
screen
friendly
solution,
credit
card/scorer.
Participant
used
his
own
phone.
There
was
no
time
limit
provided.
During
the
process
time
was
recorded
for
each
step.
Close
attention
was
paid
to
observe
the
participant
for
each
step,
constant
mapping
Body
language
and
facial
expressions.
Questions
were
asked
towards
the
end
of
the
procedure
for
feedback
regarding
time,
difficulty
and
any
other
issues
regarding
the
procedure.
Results
Participant
felt
really
pleased
with
himself
on
his
ability
to
successfully
apply
the
screen
protector
on
his
phone.
Participant
rated
each
step
between
a
4-5
on
a
5-
point
scale,
took
an
average
of
roughly
45
seconds
per
step
and
completed
the
entire
procedure
in
6
minutes
and
13
seconds.
Participant
commented
on
the
process
being
pretty
simple
and
less
stressful.
The
longest
step
was
step
6
and
shortest
was
step
4.
Only
one
issue
raised
by
the
participant,
namely
that
of
a
few
air
bubbles
being
reported
in
which
case
participant
was
asked
to
repeat
step
6
carefully
and
the
result
was
much
better
than
before.
Implications
The
test
went
pretty
well.
Very
few
issues
were
brought
up;
they
were
mainly
related
to
specific
instructions.
On
step
6,
participant
didnt
completely
get
rid
of
air
bubbles,
so
after
completion
participant
was
instructed
to
repeat
step
6
until
the
air
bubbles
were
completely
removed.
Limitations
The
test
was
a
success
with
a
few
limitations
though.
The
test
was
carried
out
in
a
room
inside
a
building
with
no
access
to
steam;
also
the
participant
hadnt
washed
his
hands
before
carrying
out
the
test
procedure.
Although
there
was
no
speed
limit
participant
breezed
through
the
steps
and
hence
ended
up
with
a
few
air
bubbles.
Participant
wanted
to
redo
the
test
procedure
but
couldnt
as
we
only
had
one
screen
protector.
His
reason
being
he
wanted
to
do
a
better
job
of
applying
a
screen
protector.
Conclusion
In
conclusion
participant
was
satisfied
with
the
result
and
felt
that
he
could
have
done
better
if
he
hadnt
rushed
through
the
instructions.
It
was
a
good
thing
to
have
issues
reported
as
it
helped
me
get
feedback,
which
I
inculcated
into
my
instructions
sheet
to
improve
it.
