Plan, develop, coordinate, and schedule library instruction for students, faculty,
and staff; Teach approximately 140-160 instruction sessions per fiscal year.
Collaborated with other librarians to develop standardized library instruction
packages (50, 75, & 100 minute packages) based on ACRL standards. Seven online
modules were created which incorporate the various skills covered in the three
instruction packages. A 20 question assessment tool was developed based on the
skills covered in the 50 minute package. The assessment is available in MS Word
and a .zip file can also be imported into the Blackboard Grade Center. Online
modules and packages will be updated as needed.
Develop and teach a variety of instruction sessions including: course-integrated
instruction tailored to specific research assignments; open session workshops for
students (e.g., Research the Smart Way, Cite it Right, EasyBib, Is this Web Site
Credible?); and PDO workshops for faculty and staff (e.g., Beyond the Textbook:
Integrating Library Resources into Blackboard).
Helped develop, test, and implement mobile scavenger hunt activity that
incorporates the use of iPads, Padlet.com and QR codes. During this engaging
activity, students roam the physical library in teams while learning about the
resources and services offered.
Collaborate with other librarians and English faculty on Information Literacy
Project for ENG-112 classes (part of FISPE/QEP assessment plans for
incorporating core competencies into the curriculum). Created and update seven
research modules using LibGuides Research at Reynolds Libraries
(http://libguides.reynolds.edu/research), developed corresponding pre/post test
on Blackboard, developed self-assessment questions on Blackboard for each
module; developed feedback questions for each module; created Camtasia clip on
how to navigate through modules. Pilot tested in Fall 2011 and integrated in
several ENG-112 classes starting in Spring 2012.

As part of my Student Readiness & Orientation subcommittee work on the QEP


Team, I created a Library Resources & Services module
(http://libguides.reynolds.edu/cdl001) including Camtasia video clips and
assessment questions for a non-credit online course in 2011, CDL-001: Orientation
to Learning Online, for students considering taking an online course as well as
students who may have not done well in an online course they have taken in the
past. Update module as needed.
As part of my Faculty Training subcommittee work on the QEP Team, I created a
Learning Objects module including assessment questions in 2011 as well as cocreated an Information Literacy module including assessment questions and a
Camtasia video clip in 2010 for faculty who teach online.
Create and update online guides tailored to specific subjects, curriculums, and
course assignments. Created and co-created over 50 LibGuides and collaborate
with other librarians to update 120 LibGuides. Started off in 2006 using Microsoft
FrontPage to create and update guides, then switched to PB Works in 2007, then
switched to Springshare LibGuides in 2009 (http://libguides.reynolds.edu).
Collaborated with other librarians in creating guide templates for all three
platforms.
Initiated trial of the Springshare LibGuides content management system and
proposed purchasing this user-friendly system so that all librarians can quickly
and easily create and update research guides. Started subscription to LibGuides in
2009.
Create instructional video clips using Camtasia that demonstrate how to search
the library catalog and various databases. Videos are loaded on the librarys
Screencast.com account (http://screencast.com/users/jsrcc). Embed video clips
into the librarys LibGuides.
Coordinated effort to create and update over 30 library instruction handouts and
corresponding worksheets.

Assist in the investigation and development of library surveys (e.g., user
satisfaction surveys; and online module feedback survey) to help in the ongoing
assessment of the community colleges research and information needs.
As Chair of the Library Marketing Committee in 2007, led members in reviewing
other academic library user satisfaction surveys and drafting two user satisfaction
surveys one for students, and one for faculty & staff. OIE administered the two
surveys via Web Surveyor during the Spring 2008 semester.
As Chair of the Information Literacy Committee (formerly Library Curriculum
Committee), lead members in discussing new workshops to offer and new ways to
deliver library instruction. Currently working on revamping instruction package
and skill set selections for scheduled sessions as well as revamping open session
offerings.

As part of my Student Readiness & Orientation subcommittee work on the QEP Team, I created
a Library Resources & Services module including Camtasia video clips and assessment questions
for a non-credit online course in 2011, CDL-001: Orientation to Learning Online, for students
considering taking an online course as well as students who may have not done well in an
online course they have taken in the past.
As part of my Faculty Training subcommittee work on the QEP Team, I created a Learning
Objects module including assessment questions in 2011 as well as co-created an Information
Literacy module including assessment questions and a Camtasia video clip in 2010 for faculty
who teach online.
