3. AIMS
Provide pupils with a link between theory and practical classes regarding the safe
use of woodworking hand tools.
Enable pupils to interpret a working drawing and apply the information to a piece
of timber using the relevant tools.
Increase numeracy skills (in practical class) and literacy skills (in theory class).
Introduce how to apply an appropriate finish to a projects and highlight key areas
surrounding finishing.
Assessment of Los
removing trenches.
Safely handle,
transport and
use
finish.
6. DIFFERENTIATION STRATEGY
I have designed the Tea Pot Stand as a universal project. It is not gender specific
and would appeal to everyone in the class.
The top piece is to be designed and shaped by the students to add an element of
ownership/identity to the project and encourage a bit of motivation to make a good
standard project. For the excelling students who have finished first, a
marquetry/pyrography design can be introduced too.
