Classroom Management Plan

My overall teaching philosophy is to serve more as a guide to my students through the

learning process. I will be providing them with all possible learning tools for success and
learning growth. I truly believe that you must love what you teach and truly love children in
order to be a great teacher. I will assist children in discovering who they are, so they can express
their own opinions and nurture their own ideas to make them grow and want to know more. The
best learning occurs when the students feel it has a purpose, therefore, I will challenge them to
make what I am teaching relevant to their everyday lives and community. I believe that
integration of technology is a great equalizer that facilitate access to a new kind of learning
environment. Since every student is different and learn in different ways, I will be using visuals,
concrete examples, demonstrations, and hands on learning to cover different learning styles. In
this way, I will ensure equal learning experience for all my students. Not only will my students
be learning from me but from each other as well as I from them. I will help my students realize
their full potential by setting high expectations.
I will be teaching early childhood and I will employ structure in the classroom by using
routines and procedures to help students be comfortable, in this way all the students will know
what each day would be like. I will include interesting learning activities to grab and capture
their attention that will also inspire them to learn and what to know more. My classroom will be
build and feel like if we were one big family. My classroom will be a caring, safe, respectful, and
fun environment where each child can blossom and grow. Helping students to develop a deep
love and respect for themselves, others, and their environment occurs through an open sharing of
ideas that is why I will make time to have open discussion where the students will choose what
to talk about. Not only will they learn to work dependably but also in small groups to accomplish
their goals for the day. It will be a safe and comfortable learning environment. The skills they
gain in school will expose them to many opportunities in life. It is my goal as a teacher to
improve student achievement with quality instruction that prepares children to be successful in a
fast changing world. Teaching provides an opportunity for continual learning and growth,
learning is an ever endless process.
I am the kind of teacher that will present my students with rules and guidelines at the
beginning of the school year. The students will be allowed to come up with their own rules and
consequences if not followed. I will exhibit a warm and caring attitude towards my students. I
will show encouragement and write positive comments on class work and homework.
This style will impact my teaching in a good way. I will be a firm teacher but with an
understanding and caring side. This teaching style will allow me to be flexible but not too
flexible. I will expect my students to follow the rules but I will take into consideration special
circumstances. It will allow me to have a good teacher- student relationship.

Classroom Rules
I would like to make a list of classroom rules with my class as a collective effort. I want
my students to be as much part of their discipline as they can be in order to be successful. There
are rules and procedure that we have to make to keep everyone on target and doing their very
best. I believe rules are there to guide the students. General rules are easy to follow and
understand.
Our rules are as followed:
1) Respect yourself and others at all time
2) Raise your hand if you want to talk
3) Listen while others are speaking
4) Follow directions
5) Always smile and be kind to others
6) Have fun learning
Number one, two, and three demonstrate self-control and respect, waiting your turn and showing
respect while your peers and teacher talk. Number four is common sense rule. Always read and
follow directions. Do as you are told. Lastly, I include smiling and having fun because you can
have fun while learning.
Consequences for Misbehavior and Intervention Strategies
I will always encourage my students and say positive remarks. On their homework I
would write positive statements like good job nice work or excellent, this will motivate
my students. Every now and then I will surprise them with a little party or candy as long as they
behave for a whole month.
Consequences are the results from the choices that the students make during the day. If
they choose not to follow one or more of the classroom rules that they helped create then that has
a consequence. I would use a stop light in my classroom and it would have the basic green,
yellow, and red lights but it would also have a black light which would have the most sever
consequence.
At the start of everyday, the students will start on green light and would be moved
according to their behavior choice. A green light states that you had a great day and did what was
expected of you. A yellow light indicates that you have been warn once and still you did not
listened so now you are in time out or pulled aside and are now out of an activity. A red light
indicated that you did not only have a warning and were pulled aside but also are getting a call
home to your parents. Finally, after using all your chances up, you are now at black light which
results in going to the principals office and lunch detention for three days. Of course after very
misbehavior I will talk to the students about their actions and remind the class of the classroom
rules.
Routines and Procedure
I will have a token economy system in my classroom. At the end of the day the students
that are on green light will have a choice of getting a sticker or a token that can be use on Fridays

to get something from the class shop. Giving my students attention or praising them is another
way where I can motivate them. By just looking at them and smiling when they engage in
appropriate forms of behaviors. Writing or saying to them good job, nice work, or super
this especially will motivate the students and give them a since of pride. Providing them with
extra attention and praising them when needed will help them be on task and behaving well. If
most of the class is too loud or out of order, I will flip on and off the lights and get their attention
by doing this. I will remind them of what they need to be doing and get them on task.
There are 4 routines in our classroom. They are as followed:
1) Morning/Homework
2) Lunch/Bathroom
3) Centers
4) Dismissal
In the morning when the students come in for class they will turn in their homework in a red
basket located near the door. After they do so they will sit in their assign seats and quietly read a
book till the class is ready to start. For lunch and bathroom breaks the class will line up quietly in
front of the door. Each week there will be a line leader and a student assign to the back of the
line that he or she will make sure everyone is in a straight line and quite. After that we will leave
to the cafeteria or for bathroom breaks. There will be at least 4 centers. The class will know
when it is time to rotate centers because there will be a bell. The bell will ring, after that they will
have about 40 seconds to finish up and switch centers. After 40 seconds it will ring again and by
that time they will need to be in another center and ready to start. We will stop class 5 minutes
before school ends. The class will sit quietly and they will be dismissed according to if they ride
the bus or carpool or if they walk home.
Implementation of My Classroom Management Plan
My implementation plan begins by addressing the rules and expectations. The students will
help have helped be to create them so there should be no confusion. I also talk about the
consequences for the students actions and how they are responsible for their behaviors. I will
lead by example and demonstrate good action and also point out the students who are acting or
behaving well so other students will too. Most if not all students learn by watching others so I
intent to be a good role model. I also will be using an application that will allow me to monitor
by students like ClassDoJo. ClassDojo will help me improve behavior in my class and I can also
share it with my students parents. I will also set up a class website where parents can freely
check on up dates and events for our class. When it comes to talking about a certain student I
will email, call, or text the parents to set up and appointment to talk to them when they have
time. I would also love it to have a smart-board in my classroom and the students will also enjoy
it. The students will have fun while learning and it will encourage them to use technology.
Technology is not just for finding information but also for learning. Technology is a different
kind of environment but when use right and teach the students how and when to use it, they can
learn so much by using educational websites and applications.
