Dear Accounting Teacher :)

Dear Accounting Teacher,

ne of the most important things that you must have is the power to
motivate your students. Im not saying that by it you make the learning
easy. No. Not at all because honestly, you make it all challenging and
difficult. Challenging in the sense that we feel so obliged to give our best shot in
everything and difficult because it is obviously difficult to study. Not that I love it
tough and oh-so-hard. But, basically because the subject itself, A-C-C-O-U-N-T-IN-G, is by nature really hard. Lets just say that its degree of difficulty is
something innate and you cannot just take that fact away that easy, just like
everything else. And though, some teachers may be able to make the lectures and
discussions appear less difficult, still, it cant be that easy when it comes to exams.
Like, teachers should not make it that easy because if they do, they dont actually
help much in the future CPA Board Exams well be taking.
The least you can do, which every other person is capable of doing, yet one of
the best things you can do to help us, aside from teaching us well, is to inspire us
and motivate us to do well as Accountancy students. Because in reality, we face
the academic battle alone. Yes, of course, there are people around us to support
us in our quest, who give us strength, and you, our teachers to equip us for the
huge wave well be surfing through in the future. And we need you all. But then
again, it is all up to us how we deal with it. We are the ones who study, who will
take our exams, who will get into our classes. But when we become hopeless and
pessimistic along the way, we need you to encourage us because youve been here
and you survived. Well tend to believe you more than our parents, perhaps. What
well do with our pen may depend on what you tell us. How we answer is
grounded on what you teach. How we work hard may be because of your words of
wisdom. And the additional three letters well have may be because of the way you
motivate us. :)
All hopes for the future,
CPA

The Philippine CPA licensure exam is considered the most difficult board exam in the

than the bar exam. Lawyers exam may contain a little bit of accounting but the CPA

failed the whole exam. So you wanna be a CPA lawyer huh? Lol

1. First of all PRAY my friend... ask God's help... You

may do this once in your entire review
term..remember GOD will always listen to your
request, so the next thing for you to do is to give
your best effort to achieve your goal... it doesn't
matter how many books you've fished for the exam,
what matter is your determination to learn and
absorb every concepts written on your review
materials. Take note that praying without doing
anything will not provide good results, so the best
thing to do is to DO YOUR PART...
2. Provide a Self Study Schedule... scheduling your

review will help you to manage and monitor your

target knowledge to be learn in your everyday
routine. make sure that your schedules are
manageable and flexible.... put enough time to
rest.... let say, the duration of your review for every
topic is 1 hour then after that you will have 30 mins.
break... take note that you don't have to force
yourself to review when you're not in the mood to
do it. it's only a waste of time..
3. Organize your review materials and if you can
afford, buy a voice recorder... So if you're a
graduating student try to invest on those review
materials and voice recorders, you can buy a voice
recorder for P1500.00 - 2000.00..there are
downloadable softwares that will help you to shrink
the size of your recordings.. you might ask, why do
you need that software.. the only reason for that is
this.. every review sessions will last for let say 1hr,
so if you try to record that using a voice recorder it
will consume a minimum of 50mb of the voice
recorder's memory. Now using that software will
shrink that size to lets say 12mb, now you see how
can you save memory on your voice recorder. about
the reviewers there are downloadable review
materials in the net.. be resourceful... but prioritize
to review those materials given by the review
center.
4. Review your textbooks... reviewers are only
summaries, its still better to go back to your
textbooks, it will help you to recall the concepts and
the how's and why's of it. See to it that for every
chapters of your text book you've learned the how's
and why's..absorb every concepts, practice solving
as much as possible until you vomit those questions
away. practice answering questions using procedural

methods and analysis method... i got that from Mr.

Dayag of RESA review center. Here's a big tip you
can see the accounting part of the topics by just
understanding the definition of the terms...
5. The most important of all..have a healthy body..
do not over do yourself. For every topics that you've
finished, reward yourself. Take your breakfast
everyday... never ever go to the review center with
an empty stomach..
6. Last but not the least..try to compete with others,
try to set some goals like being in the top 10 for
every quizzes given by the review professors.. it will
trigger your self confidence in the exam and it will
motivate you more in doing your best in reviewing
every topics of your books.
Other tips that could help you..
>if you're sure that you will take the board exam
after the review, register early at the PRC. I know
that this will give pressure to you but the good thing
about this is that, you will be forced to review well
and ahead of others. transform the negative vibes
to a positive then you will see the result.
> build up your self confidence and be consistent on
your performance.. if you got low score or failing
grades to your 1st,2nd or 3rd quizzes try to move
up... having a failing grade doesn't mean stopping.
when you are down the only thing to do is to go up..
you can do it, don't give up..
> learn to breath well..our brain needs oxygen.. so
breath normally even though your having a hard
time answering every question in your reviewers

and quizzes.. this will help you avoiding headache

and blockout when taking the exam..
>practice answering theories and problems 2mins
each.. improve your reading comprehension my
friends. there are lots of tricky question in the exam
so be diligent in answering, remember each point
has a big effect to your average. no one is perfect
but try to be one in taking this big fight to your
career.
> CPA exam is just the first step of your dreams and
there are lots of challenges to come so don't stop
learning....

Techniques and Tips for

Passing the CPA Board Exam
For one to be a passer in the CPA board
exam, he/she has to know first what it
takes to be a CPA.
It is not about
luck
as
some
of
the passers will
say.
Those
CPA
Board passershave
exerted their effort and perhaps have
applied the following techniques and
tips for passing the CPA Board Exam:
1.
Prepare early Some students on
their first year often mention that

they have still a lot of time to

study,
that they do not need to get
serious about accounting and preparing
for the board exam. I once interviewed
a CPA Board topnotcher and he said he
started
reading
the financial
accounting books when he was first year
college and on the succeeding years he
was
already
answering
review
materials. If you are already on your
later years in college, it is not too
late, start now and open your notes,
focus on those topics which you are not
familiar
with.
If
you
have
no
materials, borrow from your friends or
search on the internet.
2. Think that you are a CPA already
Before I took the board exam, I already
put the acronym CPA after my name and
wrote
it
on
the
first
page
of
my reviewers and books. It reminded me
of my goal of becoming a CPA.
During
my
review
I
was
not
thinking
of
negative thoughts like, what if I
fail?.
You should always think that
you will pass the board exams.
If
others can pass, you can also pass.
3. Enrol on any of CPA Review Schools
of your choice To have more chances
of passing the board exam, you should
enrol in CPA Review Schools. They give
handouts which are updated and they
also give tips in order to develop you

and rev you up for

Board Examination.

CPA

4. Always
have
to-dos
at
the
beginning of the day This will help
you minimize wasted time and will help
you focus on your review. You may also
have to set your mood before you study
a particular topic.
If you think you
are not learning anything on what you
are
studying,
you
may
try
to schedule it on some other time.
5. Practice, practice
the
saying
goes,
perfect.
What you
learn by doing. This
become more at ease
board questions.

and practice As
Practice
makes
learn to do, you
will help you to
on answering CPA

6. Pray and pray until you succeed

The more prayers you utter, the more
that God will here you and He will
help you to pass the CPA Board
exam.
God will help you, but
remember you must help yourself
first, and that is by studying
seriously and wholeheartedly.

In my heart you are an asset

But in my mind, a liability
You are an entry I can't forget
That's slowly shaking my equity.
Loving you is an understatement
For a beauty's carrying value
And so I made an adjustment
Of the love that I must issue.

Begin NOW thinking about how you will rejoin

civilized society, but at a much higher level than
you were when you started up this road, because

But your heart had a preference

For someone who's not me
Who can give you more dividends
Than a hopeful ordinary.
All my hopes were expensed
For such unrecoverable loss
And the business I've commenced
Resulted to an opportunity cost.
And so you went depreciating
Ending this going concern
There's this pain accumulating
From a romance unearned.
