INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND
The plan should guide the LEAs use of education technology for the next three
years.

List specific start and end dates (7/1/xx to 6/30/xx). Provide a brief overview of
the LEA, its location and demographics and/or share a link to the LEAs website.

Harmony School of Excellence (HSE) is made up for 6 schools offering K-12 education.
The schools are
Harmony School of Advancement (9-12)
Harmony School of Excellence (K-8)
Harmony Science Academy Bryan (K-12)
Harmony School of Excellence Endeavor (K-8)
Harmony Science Academy (K-8)
Harmony School of Discovery (K-12)
4,000 students study in the HSE schools and district has 350 staff members. All schools
in HSE are college prep schools. Even in middle schools they have electives and clubs
toward college admissions is charter public school. Like other traditional schools it is
subject to all state required regulations. The average of free-reduced approved students

rate is 40 %.
This plan intends to cover next three years starting from 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and
2016-2017 school years. For 2014-2015 school year the budget will be used what was
allocated. The other two years will have priority on creating school budget as the schools
use technology more each day.

Describe how a variety of stakeholders from within the LEA and the communityat-large participated in the planning process.

Technology committee will be created in each campus to design and create the
technological needs of schools. Technology teachers, activity coordinators, one assistant
principal (who is in charge of finance and operations), two parents, one student will be on
this committee. Then the committee will propose needs to the budget committee.

Summarize the relevant research and describe how it supports the plan's
curricular and professional development goals.
School will,

Seek opportunities to work in teams to design technology-supported projects.

Integrate proper technology into curricular areas. (For classroom projects that
integrate technology into mathematics, science, and history, refers to
the Handbook of Engaged Learning Projects).( *)

Develop objectives that describe appropriate technology goals for students at each
grade level.

Create lesson plans that integrate authentic uses of technology.

Use technology for routine tasks as well as for curriculum development.

Analyze and upgrade the technology plan so that it sufficiently reflects the scope

and sequence of student goals and tasks.

CURRICULUM COMPONENT CRITERIA.

The Plan must establish clear goals and realistic strategy for using
telecommunications and information technology to improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe teachers' current access to instructional technology and current use of

digital tools.
All the schools in HSE has very strong technology infrastructure thanks to the RTT
grant by Federal Department of Education. All teachers have laptops and students who
are 6-12 grades use chrome books. Some schools have other devices like iPads, kindle
fires, smart boards etc. Due to high volume of technological devices used at schools in
HSE servers, WI fi routers have been updated recently to meet the demand for all devices
and for security increase.
Describe students' current access to instructional technology and current use of
digital tools. Include a description about the LEA policy, practices, and/or
replacement policy that ensures equitable technology access for all students.
Thanks to the RTT grant all 6-12 students got chrome books last year. Due to high
volume of maintenance needs and some unwanted violation of school policies the district
decided that students cannot take away devices to homes. They can use computer labs
under the supervision of teachers. They are not allowed to use social media sites at school
as well as other non-educational sites. Students are not allowed to use cell phones or any

electronic device during the school hours.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for using
technology to improve teaching and learning. Describe how these goals align to
the LEA's curricular goals that are supported by other plans. Describe how the
LEA's budget (LCAP) supports these goals, and whether future funding
proposals or partnerships may be needed for successful implementation.
All curriculum used in technology class has been updated so that students can use chrome
books effectively. Teachers got their training on chrome books regarding how to
implement their involving devices in teaching at the beginning of the year. Teachers have
started assessing students through online test and exams.
Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, to address
Internet Safety and the appropriate and ethical use of technology in the
classroom.
All servers are maintained carefully. This year servers were separated, now they use
different servers for different purposes. Firewalls have been secured and activated. There
are more Wi-Fi for staff, students and guests to ensure more secure and faster internet.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMPONENT

The Plan must have a professional development strategy to ensure that staff
understands how to use these new technologies to improve education services
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Summary of the teachers' and administrators' current technology proficiency and

integration skills and needs for professional development.

It has been stated that teachers need trainings on Microsoft Office, Google Docs and
several softwares to help them manage their time on daily tasks and increase their

teaching in the classroom.

Describe goals and an implementation plan, with annual activities, for providing
professional development opportunities based on your LEA needs assessment
data and the Curriculum Component of the plan.

There has been decided to support administrators providing them different trainings from
how to use internet effectively for daily tasks to project management, research. They will
be participating in those trainings at least two times a year.

INFRASTRUCTURE, HARDWARE, TECHNICAL SUPPORT, SOFTWARE, AND

ASSET MANAGEMENT COMPONENT CRITERIA
The Plan must include an assessment of the telecommunication services,
hardware, software, asset management, and other services that will be needed to
improve education services.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the existing hardware, Internet access, electronic learning resources,

technical support, and asset management already in the LEA that will be used to
support the Curriculum and Professional Development Components of the plan.

The schools have desktop computers, laptops, tablet PCs, smart boards, document
cameras and wi fi based printers. All of these devices need to be managed efficiently. The
schools will include trainings at the beginning of the school year. If observed to be not
sufficient, teachers will be on training up top three times a year to master their skills on
these devices.

Describe the technology hardware, electronic learning resources, networking and

telecommunications infrastructure, physical plant modifications, technical
support, and asset management needed by the LEA's teachers, students, and
administrators to support the activities in the Curriculum and Professional

Development components of the plan.

Apart from numerous devices supporting learning in the schools each school has IT
manager that is ready to help teachers for daily maintenance needs. Those IT persons
handle, keep, record, maintain and update devices. They take action on unwanted internet
cuts.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION COMPONENT
The plan must include an evaluation process that enables the school to monitor
progress toward the specific goals and make mid-course corrections in response
to new developments and opportunities as they arise.
(Answer at least 2 questions for each subsection below)

Describe the process for evaluating the plan's overall progress and impact on
teaching and learning.
The committee will be gathering and evaluating the plan, fulfillments of goals and
outcomes. They will be using data gathered from surveys, test results and interviews.
They will provide a written report to the school administration.

Describe the schedule for evaluating the effect of plan implementation, including
a description of the process and frequency of communicating evaluation results
