THE TECHNICAL COLLEGE OF

TRANSPORT AND BUILDING

ENGINEERING OF IAI

WATER- PROPERTIES

OCTOBER, 2014

WATER CHARACTERISTICS FROM

MULTI-BUILDING ENSEMBLES
Study science: installation elements
Target group: pupils from 14-16 years , specialized in
technical drawing for buildings and installations
Lesson objectives:
the identification of the interior installation components with
water
listing of all of the properties of the water in the multibuilding ensembles;
making direct observations on the treated drinking water
samples;
comparing the treated with the untreated water samples;

ISSUES DISCUSSED DURING

THE LESSON

THE PHYSICAL WATER PROPERTIES

the turbidity of natural waters
the temperature of natural waters
electrical conductivity
the radioactivity of water
THE CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF WATER
the water reaction depends on the mineral and organic
substances that are dissolved in it
the gases contained by water by dissolution or by contact
with the atmosphere or gas emanations from the
underground.
THE BACTERIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF WATER
THE ORGANOLEPTIC PROPERTIES OF WATER

ACTIVITIES DESCRIPTION:
The lesson takes place in the laboratory of sanitary
installations of the faculty of installations.
Type of lesson - VISIT-LESSONS
- students were divided into two groups and they presented,
with the help of the group leaders, their observations and
measurements of the water samples taken from the
laboratory water network and from the glass network.
EVALUATION:
it is applied by self-evaluation of the students and by
checking their answers to the feed-back questions from the
lesson.
