All aboard the Friend-ship!
Lesson overview on the unit friendship
1st and 2nd grade boys
30 minute lesson
Wholeness: This final lesson focuses on creating a union by embracing all different types of
friendships.
SCI Wholeness: Harmony exists in diversity.
Main Points:
1. Friends experience and feel the same emotions as I do.
2. Friends work together.
3. A friend means doing my part.
4. Being a friend means solving problems together for the better.
Objectives:
The students will:

Materials:
A friend-ship boat that is made of cardboard for the lesson and poster boards
Differentiation:
Open discussion are voluntary. For the group activities the students will be required to share with
the rest of the class.

We will be taking a journey through time to review this entire unit on friendship!
Lesson development:
Procedures:
After introducing this lesson as a whole of all the previous lessons I will pass out thinking hats
that also spell out friendship. Each hat has a letter. On the back of the hat is a number this
number matches another student. For the lesson the students that have the same number will be
teamed up. The teams have to review one of the lessons that were taught by having a skit. I will
have skit examples for each team. Before class Ill have different stations set up where the skits
will be taken place. The skits will take place at each station. The boat I built out of cardboard
will have 5 strings for the boys to hang on to. The strings represent teamwork. The boat
represents unity. 2 students will be hanging on to one string representing partnership
(friendship). As a class we will be taking a journey through time (unit lessons). Final review will
be an open discussion closing with the treasure chest. Everyone will get a friendship award at the
end of the lesson.

We are all on the boat!
Assessment:
The skits will demonstrate their knowledge of the subject. Open discussion and
