Christology

I believe in the deity of Christ. The incarnation as God in human flesh, whereby God
himself took on human form. Jesus showed his omnipotence when he calmed the storm in
Matt 8:26-27. When he feed the 5000 with 5 loaves and two fish, Matt 14:19. Jesus
demonstrated his omniscience in Mark 2:8 by knowing peoples thoughts. Christ eternal
sonship as described in John 1:1, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and Word was God. Christ virgin birth as prophesied in Isa 7:14 and then described
in Matt 1:18-23. As God-incarnate, Jesus performed numerous miracles that
demonstrated His deity and are listed through out many books of the New Testament,
including the Gospel of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Christ was a Prophet as foretold
in Deut 18:18 and then affirmed in Acts 7:37 describing His prophetic ministry. Christ
died a substitutionary death on behalf of sinners. The righteous demands of a holy God
were met completely through Christ's complete payment for sin, thereby providing
redemption to all believers. His death was the legal means for God to forgive the sins of
the world. The miracle of Jesus' resurrection foretold by Himself, and affirmed in the
New Testament accounts through several accounts of his appearances. Christ's bodily
ascension into heaven was foretold by Jesus himself in John 16:10,28, and clearly
documented in Luke 24:50-51 and Acts 1:9-11. In addition to His physical death, bodily
resurrection, and ascension He serves as our high priest today, sitting at the right hand of
the Father, making intercession for us. This is clearly documented in Heb 7:17-26. And
finally Christ will one day return to physically fulfill his role as judge of the world, and

then reign as King in his newly established kingdom on earth, which believers will live
with him, as his people.
