Joshua settled first in Philadelphia. His first wife died and he married Ruth Atkinson in 1743. She was the
granddaughter of Mahlon Stacy who was descended from a Norman officer, Stacy deBellefield, who came to
England with William the Conqueror. About this time he moved to Moorestown. He bought land and built a house
in 1644
