Today I will talk about Kamera obscura or so called pinhole because I love photography and
kamera obscura is amazing tool if you want to do something interesting and a bit different. It is also
historically important in the development of cameras and photography. It literally means dark chamber
in Latin and some evidence suggests that Chinese people knew about this five hundred years before
Christ! Aristotle and Euclid also understood how it works, and Leonardo Da Vinci described it in his
Codex Atlanticus. Kamera obscura functions on a very simple princip and actually every camera works
in that way light passes through a hole and projects itself on a light-sensitive material of some kind
film, photo paper, digital sensor or something else, and thus the photograph is created. Kamera obscura
also must be light-tight, which means that light cannot enter anywhere except through the hole, and the
inside must be black so there are no light reflections. And that's it, there is no more restrictions. It is
easy to build and is also really interesting and fun to use. Beauty of it is in its simplicity and the ability
to capture light and time in different ways than with usual cameras. Depending on the size of the hole
and the kind of medium you use, one photograph could take minutes, hours, days and even years to
create. One artist created kamera obscura that takes one hundred years to make a photo. How awesome
is that? You can literally capture time with it. We can make camera obscura out of this room, also. If we
put something on windows so that light doesn't enter and if we created a hole in the middle everything
from the outside would project itself on walls, floor and ceiling. You can experiment with this concept
in any way you can imagine and the photos made with it look like a dream to me, which is what

du anvnder, kan en bild ta minuter, timmar, dagar eller r att skapa. En konstnr skapade kamera
