SONO 900 HIGH TEMPERATURE ULTRASONIC COUPLANT

7

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Sono7 900 is a thick, gritty, stay in place paste for thickness gauging between 600F to 900F (315 to 482C).
TEMPERATURE OPERATING RANGE
600F to 900F (315 to 482C)
BENEFITS

Provides high temperature ultrasonic coupling in a high viscosity paste that adheres well to transducers at
high temperatures

TYPICAL PROPERTIES (at ambient temperature)

Sono7 900

Typical Properties
Viscosity (Paste)

>4,000,000 cps (Brookfield LV #5 @ 0.3 rpm)

Flash Point1

460F (237C)

Auto Ignition Temperature2

990F (532C)

1
The lowest temperature at which vapors arising from the product will ignite momentarily when exposed to a flame. The
system for flash point determination for high temperature products (>680F/360C) utilizes the Cleveland Open Cup test
in which vapors are allowed to escape and therefore results in a higher temperature than a closed cup test.
2

The temperature at which a substance ignites without other sources of energy.

SAFETY
Non-toxic and non-irritating. Contains no perfluorocarbons or fluorinated material, which can cause adverse health
effects at high temperatures.
REMOVAL
Immediately wipe couplant off the face of the transducer with a cloth material that does not present a fire hazard..
HIGH TEMPERATURE GUIDELINES
Sonotech7 couplants do not contain perfluorocarbons; thus "polymer fume fever" is not an operator hazard.
