LA PETITE PURSE OUTSIDE CONSTRUCTION
1. Cut two from fabric (A) purse base pattern
2. Cut two from Fabric (B) purse base pattern
3. Cut 2 from fabric (C) Top of purse pattern
TO EMBROIDER TOP PIECE: DO NOT CUT OUT
PIECE UNTIL EMBROIDERED
I cut a piece to fit the length of my embroidering hoop
Once I have the hoop in I design what I want the top to
say. I place the pattern in the hoop and trace out the
image or quote with my machine to see that it fits within
the pattern.

Once I have embroidered I take it out of the hoop and

line up the pattern to the quote to be sure I am cutting it
even on all sides. A hint is to fold the pattern in half both
ways.

4. Cut two pieces from stabilizer inch short width

wise than the pattern, I do this so that I can fold over
a hem when I place it to the top of the bag to be
sewn across. Shown in image below.

I then measure the center point on the embroidered are

and place the center of the pattern on it and open the
pattern up. You are ready to cut your pattern. Cut
another one from a non-embroider piece of material or
embroider something for the back also and follow the
same steps.

5. I iron the seam allowance over the edge of the

stabilizer.

and add 7/8 in width stabilizer the length of the handle. I
use a safety pin and feed it through the bottom opening
to the top. I run a straight stich on both edges of the
handle seam allowances to give the handle more
stability.

PATTERN:
Your pattern can be easily made by using the following
measurements and connection the lines. The top part of the
pattern should measure 8 the sides 9 1/2 and the bottom
11 inches.
The inside pockets should measure 9 at the top 5 on the
sides and 10 on the bottom.
HINT: to create my top piece and inside pockets I cut
the pattern twice on my cricut and then decided what
size I wanted each to be and cut them from the
second pattern. The dotted lines below shows how I
cut it for these patterns.
