Research Presentation Projects
Assignment Sheet
What you will do as individuals is create a 5-7 minute presentation (think: Pecha Kucha,
Lightening Talk, Ignite) about one or more aspect(s) of the research youve been doing for your
essay(s) and share them with the class. You will be required to have one visual aid and speak for
a minimum of five and a maximum of seven minutes.
Requirements:
Present the topic clearly and describe what your exact argument is.
Present the main points that you will cover in your essay, as well as the counterarguments
you will address and how you plan to address them.
Then, and most importantly, focus on a particular aspect of the essay or the research you
performed while writing the essay that you found interesting, unusual, or fun.
Visual Aids: What Counts?

Movie clips,
Computer overhead projector use for images/visuals
PowerPoint,
Magazine articles, brochures, and other sorts of handouts,
Radio, CD, etc., or
Food (we all love food).
Remember:
The most important thing to remember in these presentations is to have FUN! This is an
opportunity to get a little break from the writing and workshopping and to just enjoy what
youre writing about.
These presentations are not graded, but required (see your Achievement Requirements).
Your main goal is to be informative, enthusiastic, prepared, and entertaining. (Please
dont try to wing it; make sure you know that youve got enough to say and youre
prepared to say it!).
These presentations will take place on April 18 and April 20.
HAVE FUN, AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ANY HELP!
