Learning Outcomes [ASSURE (State Objectives)]
At the end of the course,
The students will be able to identify at least 7 out of 9 new vocabulary items related to clothes when
they see the pictures of those clothes with the help of Prezi presentation and flash cards.
The students will be able to pronounce the words correctly by repeating the teacher three times.
The students will be able to identify the picture of a given clothing item and match it with its spelling
by doing a matching activity.
The students will be able to spell at least 7 out of 9 of the vocabulary items correctly by filling the gaps
of the missing letters in a given activity by looking at the pictures next to the words.
The students will be able to identify the meaning of have got/has got in a sentence and differentiate
between the two forms with the help of the sentences in the Prezi presentation.
The students will be able to fill in all the blanks with have got/ has got in a given sentence when they
are provided which subjects to use.

The teacher employs presentation technique by using the Prezi presentation tool. Direct Method is employed
because the grammar rules are not taught explicitly. The students are expected to induce the knowledge from
the presentation and activities. The students are expected to work hands-on by coming to the board and
marking their answers on the board during the matching activity.

Summary
It is aimed to teach have got/has got structure and 9 vocabulary items related to clothes. ( Skirt, trousers,
dress, shirts, t-shirt, blouse, coat, sweater, shoes)

The fill-in-the-blanks, fill-in-the-letter gaps activity and the matching activity are used to evaluate and
reinforce the newly taught grammar structures and vocabulary items.

The students are told to revise the vocabulary items they

learnt and write sentences in which they use one of the


words they learnt. ( 1 sentence for each word)
Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan
The teacher hangs the flashcards on the board and, introduces and pronounces the words by showing the
pictures of the clothes. After repeating it three times, she wants her students to pronounce the words after her.
After the vocabulary stage, the teacher hands out a worksheet. In this handout, the students are matching the
clothes pictures with their spellings. After they complete the teacher provides the answers and explains if any
mistakes are made by the students.
After this activity, the teacher distributes another handout. In this handout, there are words with missing
letters. The students fill in those letter gaps and he teacher provides the answers at the end.
The teacher opens a Prezi Presentation in which there are sentences made with have got/has got structure.
The teacher does not explain the grammar structure explicitly and makes the students understand the
structure by giving another activity after this presentation. In this activity, there are gaps to be filled with
have got or has got. The students are expected to find the correct version by looking at the subject.
To evaluate the students, the teacher walks around the class to observe the students answers. The teacher
shapes the class activity according to the students performance she observes.
If the students find the lesson uninteresting, the teacher lets them do the activities in pairs. Additionally, the
teacher tells the students that if any time is left at the end of the lesson, they will play a game.

At the end of the course,
-The students will be able to identify andrecognize at least 7 out of 10 vocabulary items when listening to the
video prepared with GoAnimate.
- The students will be able to use the newly learnt words and the already learnt words in accordance with their
meaning and form by filling a cloze test.
-The students will recollect their previous knowledge on weather conditions by looking at the worksheet on
which there are the pictures related to each condition and its name.
-The students will be able to express themselves orally about what they wear based on the weather conditions
by using the vocabulary items they learnt in the previous lesson.

The teacher employs video technique by using Go-Animate video tool. Direct Method is employed because it is
aimed to teach students how to communicate according to the context. The students are expected to induce
the knowledge from the video and activities.
To have the students participated in the group work speaking activities, each group is given an audio recorder
and a worksheet, about which they will speak, to record their speaking during the activity.
For the evaluation part, each student is given a cloze test activity, in which they are supposed to fill in the
blanks in the test with the given words in the box.

Summary
It is aimed to improve the communication skills of the students by doing speaking and listening activities.

Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan


The teacher opens a video prepared by GoAnimate. In this video, there are dialogues related to what a person
wear in each weather condition. The students will create their own dialogues after watching this video. After
the video is watched, the students are given a worksheet on which there is a cloze test. The previous
knowledge of the students related to clothing items will be activated by doing this activity. After the cloze tests
are completed, the teacher provides the correct answers by explaining in details. After this activity, the teacher
distributes a handout on which 4 visuals are given related to weather conditions, so that the students
remember these words quickly. After the students take a look at this handout, the student groups the students
into pairs. The students are expected to form dialogues similar to what they heard in the GoAnimate video. The
teacher provides a sample dialogue to facilitate the students job. ( +What should I wear today? Wear your
short, it is sunny today.) The teacher gives 10 minutes to the students to compose 4 sentences like that. After
the students complete forming their dialogues, they go to the board to tell their sentences as a speaking
activity.
At the end of the lesson, the teacher shows a sack similar to Santas to the students and for homework, the
students are supposed to write a letter to Santa about which clothes they want for Christmas.
In this class, interactive and technological tools are used, so the students attention can be gathered easily;
however, if the students cannot be engaged in the class, the teacher says that they will play a game they like if
they can finish the activities on time. Technological problems will be addressed by using the teachers own
laptop.

when they see the pictures of those accessories via Concept Map tools.
The students will be able form grammatically correct sentences about what they are wearing by using
the present continuous tense form of the verb wear upon being given informative worksheets
related to the topic.
The students will be able to identify where the accessories are used in the body and practice how they
are spelled.
The students will be able to answer at least 8 out of 10 questions correctly with the help of a survey on
what they have learnt throughout the unit.

The teacher employs mapping technique by using Concept Map Tools. The teacher shows the vocabulary items
from the concept map and pronounces them. She wants the students to tell what they are and how they are
used. To reinforce the newly learnt vocabulary, the teacher distributes an activity in which the students are
supposed to match the accessories with the related part of the body and write their names next to the related
body part. By doing that, it is aimed to teach the correct spelling of the word. By using the Prezi Presentation,
it is aimed to teach the students how to set grammatical sentences besides teaching the vocabulary items. The
students are expected to induce the knowledge from the Prezi Presentation and Concept Map.

Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan


The teacher comes to the class and shows a Concept Map related to the accessories to the students. She shows
the vocabulary items from the concept map and pronounces them. After that, she wants her students to
pronounce the words. By this way, they learn the correct pronunciation of the words. After explaining the
words meanings, she opens a Prezi Presentation with which the students are expected to learn be wearing
structure. After the students watch the presentation, the teacher gives 2-3 more sentences by indicating a
student in the class and telling what s/he wears. She wants the students to do the same thing. Every student
shows a friend and tells what s/he is wearing.
The teacher distributes a handout to reinforce the knowledge related to the accessory items. In this handout,
the students are expected to show where in the body an accessory is put on by using arrows. The teacher walks
around the class and checks students work to make an evaluation.
At the end of the lesson, she tells her students that they have homework. She distributes small and colorful
slips of paper on which the website of the survey is written. She adds that they should open this website and fill
in the survey until the next class.
If any problem occurs about students motivation or technological devices, the teacher makes a creative storywriting activity in which the students can learn and reinforce their knowledge related to clothes and
accessories.

a Youtube video. The students will practice their listening skills with this video.
The students will be able to interpret a paragraph in related to clothes and accessories and write a

aim of this session is to improve the communication skills in addition to grammar skills. It is done by using
worksheet, video, speaking activity. In addition to these FLE specific methods, Tutorial Technique is used to
correct and guide the students while writing their individual passages.

The teacher uses video, listening to an audio and speaking activities. It is aimed to teach the students how to
set grammatical sentences besides improving communication skills. The students are expected to induce the
knowledge from the video and reading- writing activity.
The speaking activity is used to evaluate the students improvement in communicating skills. The students are
encouraged to speak in groups in the speaking activity so the interactivity of the course is increased. This is the
last lesson of the unit. Therefore, the teacher gives a put a tick activity to reinforce and incorporate all the
content learned so far.

Summary
Almost all the skills are addressed in this lesson. The emphasis on writing because it requires productivity and
creativity which is the last stage in English Language learning.

Explanation regarding to the implementation of the plan
The teacher comes to the class, tells the students that they will watch a video about the clothes. She opens the
video. After the students watch the video, the teacher presents information about other verbs related to
clothes such as dress, get into, take off. The teacher conveys the meaning by using her hand gestures. The
teacher groups the students into pairs and provides a sample dialog related to what they will talk about. The
students work in pairs to produce four sentences as an answer to the question What is Ali wearing? / What
does Aye put on? After producing four sentences, the students come to board and tell their answers to the
class in the form of a dialog. The teacher takes note of the students mistakes for evaluation.
The teacher uses a listening activity to combine the vocabulary items related to the clothes and accessories
with the existing knowledge of the students. She distributes a worksheet before the listening activity and
makes them listen to an audio and put ticks in the worksheet. If the students cannot manage, they are allowed
to listen to the video for a second or third time.
The teacher provides a reading passage and tells the students to read it and gives them ten minutes to produce
their own passages similar to that passage. The teacher encourages the students to use different verbs, colors
and vocabulary items to increase variety. To able to do this, the teacher writes on the board all the covered
verbs and words in addition to colors. At the end of the activity, the teacher collects the passages from the
student to use in evaluation and assessment.
If the technological devices do not work properly, teacher uses her own computer or phone.
