Dear Ms. Kerr:
What if a doctor predicted that your child would only live to age eighteen? What if, by the time
your child reached adulthood, that limit had been raised to age thirty-seven? This is the reality
for parents of children with cystic fibrosis, an inherited chronic disease that affects 30,000 people
in the United States alone. The life expectancy of children with cystic fibrosis has been raised
from approximately 10 to 37 years old since the founding of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation works to improve the lives of those with cystic fibrosis and add
tomorrows, and throughout its fifty-eight years of existence this accredited charity has literally
done just that. It is a leading non-profit that uses its donations efficiently, to invest in innovative
research and drug development. The majority of medical advances relating to cystic fibrosis can
be traced back to this organization. Ultimately the charity seeks to cure cystic fibrosis, and as the
worlds leader in research funding for the disease, it grows closer to meeting that goal every day.
Imagine that a donation from BusComm Consulting is the final push needed to find that cure.
One simple donation might mean thousands of people who no longer have to face chronic lung
infections, no longer have to engage in daily treatment activities, and no longer have to live with
a genetic disease. I am proposing that a portion of the first committee allocation be made to the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Help extend that life expectancy beyond age thirty-seven. Help
patients live to grow old. Help the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation add tomorrows.
If you choose to act upon this proposal, tax-deductible donations can be made to the foundation
online by visiting http://www.cff.org/. Alternatively, checks can be made payable to Cystic
Fibrosis Foundation and mailed to the foundations headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland.
I hope you will seriously consider this opportunity. Donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
can prolong lives and change the world for the better.
Sincerely,

Emily Dvorchak
