Reflection on preparation and execution; as well as on student learning and behavior ect
This lesson has the possibility of running 2-4 class periods, remember to plan accordingly and keep students on task
during group work. Students really enjoyed the local connection to Utah and Joe Hill represented, they could see how
the changes during this time were affecting Utah. This activity could also work well in stations so students could listen
to the song, read the lyrics, and discuss. Help out students when decoding primary sources to ensure comprehension
of content, it is important students can work through this on their own to gain needed historical thinking skills but a
little extra help is good.
