King Louis XVI
Historical figures not only effect the past, but also the present. These brave men and
women shape the world to what it is now, and what it will be for many years. King Louis XVI
was an important person in History. King Louis XVIs background, interests, and achievements
led to the role he had in History. King Louis XVI had a significant role in history, but it all
started with his early life.
Louis XVI was a courageous man and the past shows where it all began. King Louis XVI
was born on August 23, 1754 in Versailles, France. When he was young his parents, Marie
Josephe and Louis (Pauplin of France), did not care about him. His Father died at the age of 36,
when Louis August was only 13, making him the next in line for the throne. He was the oldest of
7 brothers and sister. When Louis was 15, he married Marie Antoinette, who was only 14 at the
time, but they did not have kids until 9 years later. Louis XVI was schooled by a French noble
man and excelled in most of his studies. Louis XVI, though, wasnt all about studies and enjoyed
many hobbies as well.
As anyone, King Louis XVI had many hobbies, but unlike others, his made him unique.
Louis XVI loved physical activities and challenges. He enjoyed hunting, a hobby shared mot
people now and then. Louis XVI also would wrestle, yet another challenging physical activity.
Along with staying somewhat fit, although many people say he was fat and smelly, he also was
fond of locksmithing. King Louis XVIs habit of locksmithing carried on throughout his entire,

short lifetime. Finally, Louis XVI ran a country, which isnt necessarily a hobby, but instead a
number one priority. King Louis XVI along with having a little pleasure, he took responsibility
in leading a country.
King Louis XVIs life was filled to the brim with noteworthy and spontaneous
achievements. From 1714-1792, France was led by a bourbon monarch, King Louis XVI was the
last king in the line. King Louis XVI proceeded the French Revolution of 1789 too. Another
achievement is that he was the only king to be executed in France. He was beheaded for treason.
Finally, King Louis and his family ran away from France. They did this dressed as bakers and
made it all the way to the German border, when recognized and caught. Although King Louis
XVI was not the best king to ever live, he still was a significant one.
King Louis XVI, although his short life ended on January 21, 1793, played a very
significant role in history. First, his childhood, being one in seven children, was a teensy bit
depressing , for his parents did not care about him, but he did well in his studies. Also, Louis
XVI was a man who loved physical activities and locksmithing. Finally, Louis XVI was an
mediocre king, and was the last ruler in the line of bourbon monarchs. With only 38 years of age,
King Louis XVI still effects France and everywhere else today, and will still for an vast time.
