will work through and show the rest of the class how to complete the
problem correctly. You will be using the smart board to show your
classmates the lesson. Have fun with this! You will be amazed at how
teaching others how to do math will also help you learn.
2. Look through the lesson in the third grade McGraw Hall book to review
the steps in completing story problems. I encourage you to also do
any of the extra activities provided on the McGraw website.
3. The webmath website shows you how to write out the steps correctly
when multiplying. Use this website for an example on what you will
write on the smart board. Remember you are the teacher, you must be
very clear on your lesson.
4. Practice, practice, and practice some more! The more you feel
comfortable with your assignment the better you will perform the
lesson. Present in front of your parents, grandparents, friends, stuffed
animals, the mirror, any of these examples will be helpful for you to
feel comfortable.

Monday, and that is when the presentations will begin. Let me know if

Another type of technology to use in the classroom to help students with learning, are smart
tables. Smart table is a multi-touch, multi-user interactive learning center (Gunter, Gunter p
235, 2014). This type of table encourages students to work together in small groups performing
small tasks such as playing educational games, stories, or computer based lessons. By engaging
students in different ways, technology encourages them to take a more active role in the learning
process (Gunter, Gunter p 216, 2014). Technology brings endless possibilities to a classroom to
enrich students curriculum and understanding.
Using technology to differentiate lessons has benefits as well as some drawbacks.
Research shows children who are visual learners, listening learners, or task tile learners can
benefit from using technology while learning. Computers when placed in the hands of students
and teachers, provide unique, effective, and powerful opportunities for many different types of
teaching (Gunter, Gunter p 213, 2014). Computer technology contains a number of resources to
help all students learn. As much as using technology in the classroom is beneficial, not all
schools or teachers have the funding or knowledge to use technology as part of a lesson. The
lack of teacher training, security blockage of websites that may be helpful for students learning,
not enough planning time for teachers, and budget restraints are many reasons why differentiate
instruction is not entirely possible (Gunter, Gunter, 2014). In order for educators to use all
resources that are available for differentiating instruction, teachers must have the support.
Technology in the classroom helps all students perform in all academic areas. The ability
to differentiate instruction for students in a classroom can be a difficult task, but with technology
advancements, this is becoming easier to accomplish.
