INTRODUCTION:The technique of fire suppression/extinguishing with water
mist has been known already for many years. Due to the technology
development, concept of using water mist for fire suppression has spread
very rapidly.
High velocity water sprinkler system is very effective to
extinguish the fire. The three principles of extinguishment of fire employed in
the system that is Emulsification, Cooling, Smothering. The result of applying
these principles is to extinguish the fire in few seconds. These types of
system are very effective for the fires in transformers.

STRUCTURE:The tapping for HVW sprinkler system was taken from water pipeline which is
used for fire fighting. A deluge valve is situated between main and
distribution pipelines. There is a solenoid valve and manual valve is
assembled with deluge valve to control the water flow automatic and manual
respectively. After deluge valve a network of 6 pipes (4x50 NB and 4x80 NB)
is spread over the transformer with the sprinkle nozzle which covers the
whole area of transformer. Two UV FLAME sensors are installed at the
transformer area to sense the flame in case of fire in the transformer.

PROCEDURE:The HVW sprinkler system is start working with the signal of UV FLAME
sensor. whenever UV FLAME sensor sense any type of sparking or flame in
the transformer it gives the signal to the automatic fire alarm control panel.
The fire alarm (hooter) starts ringing and control panel send 24 v to solenoid
valve. This action of solenoid valve release the pressure and deluge valve is
start working. The water is start flowing through deluge valve to distribution
pipes and automatically water start sprinkling over the transformer by the
nozzles of network pipes.
In the case of failure of automatic fire alarm control panel or solenoid valve,
manual valve is available to operate the system manually. This valve start
working if it rotates anticlockwise. This valve is working as a substitute of
solenoid valve.(in the case of solenoid valves failure.)

RESETTING OF AUTOMATIC FIRE ALARM CONTROL

The procedure of resetting automatic fire alarm control panel:First of all press the silence button then press password (54321) and enter.
Then press reset and press password (54321) and then press enter.
